What are your personalized plates?
On order, due to be installed sometime in April:
SUV2BIG
I figure that it both makes a statement as in: "SUVs are too damn big, so I had to go out and buy the SMALLEST darn (new) vehicle in the USA!". Those out there who dislike SUVs will probably agree - "Yeah, SUVs ARE too big" and those who like SUVs will probably be mildly amused, proud of their size anyway.
I do have some mild concerns about backlash - being cut off in traffic, keying the car, etc... but I hoped that the statement wouldn't be too inflammatory. After all, I could have gotten "SUV2SLO" or something like that, but since most SUV owners are very happy about their ridiculously unnecessary dimensions, I didn't think that poking a little of fun (including back at the diminutive size of the MINI) would be so harmful. Time will tell!

AHAMOS
Adrian H Amos
When we first got e-mail in college (way back in 1995), the addressing convention was to take your first 2 initials and the first 4 letters of your last name @mail.wm.edu.
It stuck, and pretty soon I had people calling me "Ahamos". I've used it for every e-mail address I've registered since.

California DMV website lets you "build" personalized plates online. You can try as many different combos as you like. Makes it easy to eliminate ones that are taken (or not allowed!)
When you find one that works and is available, you can order it online, and there's even a comment box to explain what it means, in case some official thinks it might be innappropriate.

Keep Left
What could this plate mean? Does it urge you to stay in the passing lane? Is it a reference to driving car designed in England where they drive on the left side of the road? Or better yet, is it a statement about my politics?
My license plate currently reads: SPOOGEN (spooj'n)
I'm sure I'm getting a lot of raised eyebrows, and I defenitely know those in the DC club have been trying to figure out the story behind it... so here it goes.
Once upon a time when I was stationed in Guam, I had ordered plates that would read BGBADWLF; they take 6-9 months to receive on a midget tropical island in the Pacific. So I checked back in 9 months. nada.. guy tells me to check back in another 6-9 months. I told him I'd be transferred by that time. At which point he says, "well hey we have this list of plates that haven't been claimed. Scroll through and see which one you may want." My friend and I at the time were 21, and this plate (the one above- unclaimed... go figure) really cracked us up. So I got it for my Wrangler.
Long story short.. and 12 years later, I'm in another Wrangler and figure I need to recapture my youth... so hence the plate. Since FL only requires rear plates, I put the Guam plate on the front. But that was for the wrangler, and it disappeared at the dealership when I purchased my Mini S. So NEW plates are on order as we speak.. should actually be in because that was 2 months ago (but of course dmv does not fwd from FL, must call tomorrow!)... but anywhooo... new plates will read:
SHENG QI (pronounced shang chi) = Positive Energy
... Much much better!!
Oh yeah, and florida requires you to explain the tag meaning, so I just told them it was a 4 wheeling term~
