Vinyl Styles in DC

Hey guys,

We may have the opportunity to make it out to DC (when in Philly), if we can get enough MINI's together.

Here's what we'd need:

1.) At least 10 MINI's
2.) At least 2 products installed on each MINI
3.) 100% pre-order payment 3 weeks prior to event

If you have any questions, check out our site, post em here, or feel free to give us a call.

Hope to see ya soon!

Lyle

Lyle,

I am very interested in blacking out my headlight rings and door handles, especially after seeing the results on Cecilia (MININurse's MINI). So count me in as one of the 10!

Question!

Rear view mirrors: "these mirrors attach directly to your MINI's rear view mirror" so I'm assuming they sit right on top. Do you have a pic of that in action? I'm having trouble picturing the rectangular mirror on top of the rounded dork-o-matic mirror that's on there now.

FINALLY ! Been waiting for you to come to the DC area, Lyle !

CR Cooper: I'd like the door handles and the dash pieces wrapped in checkered vinyl. And maybe even the inner door handles (the "Y" shaped handles)-- doable ??

PW Cooper: Checkered door handles. Can you do black/pepper white checkers ? If not, black/chrome ?

Min - I don't have a pic of the broadway mirror over the stock mirror. There are two clamps that hold the broadway onto the stockie.

CR&PB&J - I'm not sure if we can do the door handles in checker print, but I'll give it a shot. I'll have to see if PW & Black is available.
The door pulls (Y shaped) may be do-able, and same with the dash. We don't have any in stock, so if you want, you can pull them off and mail them to us before we come out there.

Play - Not dates set yet, we are thinkin' in the next coming months though, If the weather isn't too bad, I hate flying in crappy weather

Let's throw some dates out and see what we come up with!

Lyle... are you asking me to send you the door pulls, the dash panels, or both ?

I think the door pulls would be a bear to get off. I'd probably just drop that project.

The dash pieces, I hear, are not to tough to take out. But you've done those before, or so I remember... you have a template for those, right ??

Thanks... CR&PB&J. :-)

I would need the door pulls and the dash.

I don't have a template for the dash, but can get it. Just haven't had the time to make it from my MINI. So you would just want an overlay, or the whole thing wrapped?

I'm thinking the whole facing, Lyle. I don't think overlays would look as good. Have you done any photos of others you've done that way ?

What's the price to wrap the dash pieces if I send them to you ? PM me if you prefer.

Thanks.

Two thumbs up for Vinyl Styles

I have the black door handles & Cooper S gas cap from Lyle and installed them myself earlier this year. They have stood up to the summer sun, wind & rain; a day at the track; and several machine car washes.

I'm thrilled with the quality and I sure wish he had been around when I was installing the door handles! First one took 30 minutes, 2nd one took just 10!

Also, doing business with Lyle was great - he did everything he said he would and deliveries arrived as expected.

Support a great MINI vendor - give Lyle all your money

(Seriously, I have no connection to him other than being a very satisfied customer).

Lyle,

Would you happen to do them in Hyper Blue (doors and lights/washers). I would go for that and maybe Haemish would too?

For any of you on the fence about their products, I visited their table at the Treasure Island MMMT [MINI] get together last weekend.

I have to say WOW! They had a MINI with everything one could put vinyl on and it looked outstanding.

I was especially impressed with the quality of the work done. I guess my favorite were the headlight rings blacked out.

So if you are wondering about quality, I give these guys .

Bonus Comment: This vendor does not know me from Adam. The above are unsolicited comments.

Bonus Warning: You can't really get just a few items because the MINI won't look right. For example, if I was going to black out my chrome [a CR MINI], I would have to do the whole car so it would complete the look. [Boot, grill, headlight rings, door handles, grill surrounds, etc.]

Blacking out my car with Vinyl Styles would set me back some coin. So if you take the plunge, be prepared to open your wallet. [And don't do the job half-way. You gotta do all the chrome to make it look cool, IMHO.]

I thought about that, but I don't think it's worth going that way, because it will be very hard to exactly match Hyper Blue... and it won't look anywhere near as good if it doesn't. For that reason, I'm leaning towards either matte black or flat black (non-glossy, either way).

Well, in my case, Mr. OEM now has his beltline blacked out (thanks to Stacey (MININurse)). I have a Hyper Blue boot handle and I intend to keep it that way. My fuel door is Hyper Blue too (I swapped the chrome one out for a Hyper Blue Cooper fuel door). That leaves just the door handles, the headlight rings, and the grill... but the grill will probably be taken care of in another way soon.

I was told that Vinyl Styles can do jobs for any budget, so don't be concerned about money.

See below: a Vinyl Styles job done for pennies. I was informed that this was done about ten years ago; so as you can see, the work on this car is a monument to the durability / quality of their work and materials. I told you that blacked out headlight rings on a red car looks striking.

Bonus Note: Apparently this car's owner had only enough money to do the right side of the car. He is saving up to do the other side.

Lyle! Let me know if Arnold needs to crash on my comfy couch. Also, you should post this information in CAMM (Capital Area MINI Modders).

Mr. EZ & Edge - We have a very very close match to hyper blue. If you are not the uber **** type, then it is a match!
I can send ya guys a sample if you'd like to check it out.

Custom emblems are coming back -- excellent!
I'll have a pair (front and back) -- thinking up a design as I type!
--------------------
edit: I should have said I'm interested, but pending the date/time and location.

Let's start thinking about dates so, if interested, folks can sign up. Also, where might installations be done? What kind of space is needed? If somewhere specific(heated? large space?) is needed, then we need to get on the stick about finding a place.

I have an unheated garage, lots of parking, a spare guest room plus a very comfy pull out couch, food and drink retailers very close by and a large house to hang out in, complete with Wii , wireless access and a PS3. However, I am near Annapolis which might not be convenient to all.

If our house fits the bill, then we're happy to host an installation event. Let's move forward on this and make it happen. Just 10 people have to sign up.

edit: I forgot to mention that we'll be out of town Oct. 24th through the 26th. Other than those dates, our house is available.
