Phil Wicks MINI Driving Academy at VIR / Take 2
I've got about 1 1/2 hours of video.
It's tough to sort out what to post.
Is Summit Point the same weekend as the Dragon next year?
It is still listed as tentative.Watkins Glen is the one I won't miss.

Here is a video of some of my participation at VIR in the intermediate group. Unfortunately, and I don't know why, my video recorder stopped taping before the end of this particular session
, but I think it turned out well

Since I'm kicking myself for missing VIR this time around, I told Bev that I'm not going to miss it next year. But you all got me intrigued by Watkins Glen.
Might be fun to try a new track and plus it's about the same time distance way...about 5-ish hours. I'm in with you guys if you go.

I actually might be getting an old roommate back and that would make all the difference in the world with my budget next year.
See ya all soon, Brian

And as for changing the date, I don't care. But, if he does, I sure hope he keeps the Saturday date. You have no idea how excited I was when I saw it was on a Saturday.
And I just checked the schedule for next year. Dammit! Does anybody know where we can get a discount on tires and brake pads? Maybe we could get a discount from tire rack or somewhere if we all get tires at the same time. I got a feeling I'm gonna go through at least two sets next year.

You have to go to The Glen, Glenn.
If the Friday date holds for this event, I plan on going up Thursday morning to get to town mid afternoon. It is beautiful country up there. Watkins Glen is right on Seneca Lake. Couple of nice restaurants overlooking the lake. Friday is track day. Head to Seneca Lodge Friday night for a unique dining and drinking experience. Saturday tour the backroads around the lake, drive the original race circuit through the streets of Watkins Glen, and visit the state park that is right in town. It has some of the most unusual rock formations I have ever seen. Saturday night back to the lodge or dine by the lake. Sunday, take a leisurely drive home, avoiding the interstates for as long as possible. (You could stop in Williamsport, the home of the Little League World Series, if you are interested.)
I'll also be going to The Glen the beginning of September for the vintage races.

I'm with you on that Tom - a very rare opportunity not to be missed and two thumbs up on the additional activities intinerary!

Let's keep hoping Phil can move this event beyond the "Tentative" status.
I also see that the Summit Point event has now been moved to Monday, April 27th. I do hope we can run something other than the Jefferson Circuit there as it's really rather "rinky-dink", though I suppose it is best suited for novice instruction. He ran his DA two years ago on the "made for the MINI" Shenandoah Circuit and I've been hankering for a rerun of that ever since!

I'm thinking about driving up to the Glen also, with any of my THMMC brethren I can talk into it... about a 9 hour drive for us, but, as has been said, probably a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for some of us....

Yeah, I don't get it. It says there are photos there, but it's not showing any. Ugh. Next year, I won't be with Photoreflect - they're causing more problems than they're worth. Where's the value added there?
Received an email about my "personal gallery" from F&S Enterprises, the regular photoghrapher at VIR. I think he really does good work. He really captures the signature Oak Tree turn.

Some of the action shots also show me just after I passed Mr EZ and then just before I passed lastrega.
Just kiddin'
Go to their website and send them an email with your information. They will put together a personal gallery for you and send you the link.

Anyway, those pics are great with the colors of the trees in the background and the contrast of your car look beautiful. The last time I bought the pictures from him and they are great. As a matter of fact it is my foto in my signature. I'm going to look for the pictures
