Excellent! Glad everyone had a good time.

Everything looked to shape up to the perfect day for you all. Perfect weather, less MINIs....

I hope we'll see you all Saturday and you can tell us all about it.

Great to meet you, too! LOVE your car... It's beautiful in the parking lot, but it looks incredibly threatening when viewed through my rear view mirror!

Many thanks.... that's the idea.... cute little clown car until you open the bonnet... or wind it out on the asphalt...

Of course, seeing me do the full outta control drift around Oak Tree behind you adds to the "threatening" look.... "Get that crazy sunuvabee away from me before he breaks something!!!"

What a great day! The weather was perfect and we really did have a fun group of participants. For my first track day experience I could not have asked for anything more! OK - if Marina had offered to let me take her GP out for a session... that would have been a plus! Look forward to more events with you all.

I am glad you all had a great time! I really wish I could have gone since it seems there was a lot more track time. It would be really cool if PWMDA came to Summit Point since it is soooooo close.

Fantastic time !!! Perfect weather great people (even the PITAs ).

I had to re-learn the downshifting, practiced a lot of heel & toe and managed the oak tree exit at a much greater speed .. and I topped the fasted speed at 119 ... but I wasn't watching my speeed all the time... ..improving my SOLO Lap - I think my time was 1:42:37 (??)-

I was lucky to be a passenger on Chris' MINI for 1/2 session (Chris won the SOLO lap )... 'tho I should not have eaten the sandwich before riding

I am very proud of myself (with much relieve of the instructor) to have smoothly changed GyPsy's direction when on the first run of the last session she decided to go for a picnic

I finally got the chance to meet another GP (with a lower # )...

and thank you, Laura for trusting me and getting in the car during my "agent turning" session ..

So yesterday on my way home from VIR, about a mile from the house, I noticed the brakes squeaked a little as I came to a stop. Called MOT when I got home to make an appt to get the brakes looked at and the oil changed. Talked with a new guy, Jeff Hudson. He said either Dewayne or he would be able to help me. I asked him if Rose was still there and he said yes she was. Took the Clubman to MOT this morning. Evidently, the gremlins got to it on the way home yesterday. The brakes squeaked just a little and the heat did not work. Funny thing was there were no warning lights or SES messages.

Met Jeff and he was very personable. He said that he was brought in to work with Dewayne and that he would be managing the service department when they move to the new facility. Saw Rose. She says she will be around until Feb or until "he" arrives. Seems a little strange that they have taken her name off the office window and removed all her personal touches and pictures already. Don't think anyone will be as good as Rose.

Driving a Nightfire Red Justa loaner. Everyone at the office thought I blew up the Clubman. Waiting for a call now to see what the readouts say.

(Took some videos with a new camera. They turned out pretty well. Still trying to figure out how to edit them down. Will post them when I get things figured out. )

Dave moved up to intermediate after the first session. They only had one novice group, so we would've had to split our time and gotten 1/2 the amount of track time everyone else did.

We both did the Solo 1 lap. Dave's time was 1:41.44 and mine was significantly slower. He got third place in the stock-S group.

They mentioned the possibility of having an event at Summit Point this spring. Much closer for all of us!

I'll post some pictures when we get home.
Glad to hear everyone had a great time.

I really wish I could join you all.

Summit Point sounds good, much closer indeed. I will definitely try to make it in spring, in the novice group.

I wish Summit Point were closer for ME...

Further from my place to Summit Point than it is from DC Metro to VIR... oh well... I guess that's fair, though... And new tracks are always good

Indeed another glorious day at VIR. I think the cars and humans both enjoyed the cooler weather. Kind of sad to see the "season" drawing to a close but lots of good rumors floating about next year's events in our region - VIR, Summit Point and perhaps even Watkins Glen!

Here's the Solo times for those interested. Too bad there wasn't time for another run-off.

Good news from MOT. The brakes were glazed over, probably from overheating. They should be okay after awhile.

Here is my video contribution. Hope it works.

That's great news, Tom!

Thanks for the photos and videos everyone.

I noticed on the two videos that there was passing just before the Oak Tree Corner. Did they open up a second passing zone this time around? I can't remember but I thought they only allowed passing on the main straightaway back in July.

Yep. Permission was given to pass in that little straight, too. Got a bit interesting sometimes, but as far as I know there weren't any love taps exchanged.

Yeah, mine did that as well. They are getting better now. Do a few hard stops from 30-0 and that should helps clear it up.

I really botched my time. It was probably my worst lap of the day! (139.03)

Are you talking about this guy www.DviantImage.com or the regular track photographer, the older guy in the floppy hat that had a trailer there? I don't have his info with me, but I have it at home. I bought a bunch of stuff from him after the July event. He does nice work.

P.S. I forgot to give Laura credit for the "on track" pictures I posted earlier. Thanks Laura.

I just got an email with a link to my "personal" gallery from the track photographer - sent to me because I filled out a form at the little booth beside the classroom... you can request them to sort out your photos, too!

They are uploading right now, guys and gals. It's stuck at 27% for the moment, but I suspect they should be up by this evening.
