ok, so i'm getting nervous!

my roommate and her boyfriend just got me to try sushi for the very first time 2 days ago...and let me tell you--that was not a pleasant experience for me.

i believe i was slighly traumatized

so you all are going to need to help me out a bit on this adventure.
no tricks either!

Though the buffet will not be quite as charming as this, you get an idea of what the food is like

Oh man, Mike, you're so bad.

I have to go there now. I couldn't resist by looking at it.

No worries. I'm a very picky eater and so Bev is always helping me out at restaurants....especially now that I'm a vegetarian. And let me say that if I can eat Indian, anyone can.

Stick with Bev and she'll gladly help you along.

I'm hoping to try some dishes I've never had before

BTW- I made up some of "Mike's Curry Chicken" last night, this was the first time I added yogurt to the recipe ! "Yeah baby" in Austin Power lingo ! Turned out good, I overcooked it a tad (I was out flying a friend's r/c plane ) but good nonetheless.

Don't be nervous! I'm afraid to try new foods and I love Indian. It took me a long time to get up the nerve to try it, though. It also took me a few attempts at sushi. You'll be fine.

For Alice, I recommend mango lassi, chicken biryani, samosas, sag panir,
korma or butter chicken

I just noticed that the Thread title says 11:30am but the text in the first post says 12:00pm. Which one is the correct time?

Tip - the number of chilli pepper icons next to the entree on most menus is a kind of rating system, like they have stars for hotels; the more the better Seriously, you have nothing to worry about. I was a picky eater growing up, but now I am definitely the most adventurous in my family. I think Indian has one of the most complete and diverse sets of flavors of any cuisine.

PlayPlay,

Sorry to say Don Lopez passed away earlier this year One hell of a man and pilot. Hopefully the Smithsonian has his talks on film.

Now that the painting is done. Indeed, the food was good, the company even better ! As always, a pleasure seeing the usual DCMM "irregulars" and meeting a new one (PlayPlay (Larry ?)) . And I also missed Alice not being there.

Hey Mike, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E11epT9z1Eg is the BBC comedy I was talking about... SAXONDALE !

SpitfireMkI, thanks for updating me on Don Lopez. If I find something about his lectures, I will let you know. Actually, I just found this:

MiniPol, nice meeting you, too...and I never got to meet your son. (I'm assuming that was your son?)

So, does that mean instead of 'burp', you go 'baaaap'?
