I've been to Amma's. Very good food

 

Its 9:30pm and I'm waiting on my pot of curry chicken to cook ! Ahhhh ! The recipe gets better and better all the time !

 

I'm cooking Thai green curry, could we make a trade?.

 

I am probably gonna miss this one, gonna probably be back in Houston again :(

 

Reservation was made for June 14th. The time is 12pm.

As of now, I've made a final reservation for 14 people.

It looks like I won't be able to make it after all, I'll have to work. :( I hope I can come another time. I'll be along for the cherry picking run for sure, so I hope to see everyone then.

I wanna go, but I am afraid to commit in case I oversleep....I kinda need to catch up on sleep this weekend after my 2 weeks on the run.

Here are some of my fav restaurants in VA. Being an Indian, I have been to most of the restaurants. Here are the resturants I like.

Mayuri (Reston, VA) - This is my fav restaurant now. It beats Minerva. The deserts are really good. Must try is the Mango Ice-cream. My office gang just loves it.
Curry N Kabob - This has the best Biriyani in NVA. A small shop perfect for carry outs. If you like it spicy, they can really crank it up.
Minerva - I find their food to be a bit too oily.
Raavi Kabob - One of the best kabobs. Their sweet Gulab Jamoun is also one of the best I have tasted.
Reston Kabob - different from Raavi Kabob but tastes good. Raavi Kabob is Pakistani food while Reston Kabob is Afghani.
Indi
Jaipur Palace - Decent place but limited buffet.
Banjara(Ashburn VA)
Indique and Rasika - Heard from my friends they were good.
Tandori Heights(Clarendon, VA) - An upscale resturant. Food is ok.


For Indo Chinese, there are a quite a few restaurants coming up.
Masala Country Centerille, VA
Masala Wok - Herndon, VA
Wah Taj - Herndon, VA

All these don’t have buffet though.
I am not much of a Vegetarian. But the few I like are
Saravana Palace - Fairfax (Close to woodlands). Their dosa is very good.
Amma's (Georgetown, Vienna)- Decent place.
Cafeteria @ Shiva Vishnu temple(MD) – The options are limited but tasty and the food is cheap.

Places I did not like the most Sangam(Balston), Udipi palace(MD).

A few of my Favorite dishes – Chicken Chettinad, Mutton Biriyani, Mutton Varuval and Soup made from goat ribs, Fish curry and fish fry(south Indian Style).

Would love to join you guys on the 14th but I am volunteering at the Taste-of-town in Reston. Probably next time.

Is it too late to sneak one more into the reservation? Work has been brutal and will continue to be for at least the next week so I haven't kept up on my daily check of NAM. I'm going to make time for this, though. It's been way too long since I've been to a good Indian restaurant, which is criminal considering how much I love the food.
