Pre-MINI?
Thanks for the explanation of the anthracite, I specifically ordered the silver trim and regular headliner in lieu of the alloy patina because it looks more "modern retro" if that makes any sense. It just seems to fit with the Space Blue / Silver exterior better but then its all in what you like.
One thing that I find many folks miss is, the car really is small, the back seats are a joke for adults. Room is very limited, the boot is good for (4) grocery bags of food. For me, its all the room I need, we have the van and a CR-V if we want to haul friends or junk. Wensley is just for work and fun, that's it.
Got a good look at a Smart over the weekend, they're really cool ! Very small, I could see getting one ! I'll bet the prices suck right now though

The deed is done. The S is definitely sportier but I wanted the better gas mileage of the basic model. So a new Mini was conceived yesterday. Kept the options to a minimum as I wanted to keep the price down. If I love the car I can upgrade in the future. I did go with the sport and cold weather packages along with fog lights front and back. Upgrade at rims with the sport package. Inside I ordered center arm rest and that's it. So many diserable options and the temptation was intense. Heck, if we love the car the wife said she'll get one. Now the wait for delivery. Color? Sparkling Silver with Black top.....Manual transmission......
Congrats !
I forgot that the armrest was an option, I have that too. It has the wonderful problem of sliding open when you rest your arm on it. I know its been a hot issue somewhere here on NAM - no time to search. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket fix ? like a latch or something ?

Two ball detents would have been a piece of cake to add, I've been thinking about doing this myself
need to see how the damn thing comes apart.
Wonder if this is the one piece they let the British engineers design ? Like the classics, if it works (kind of) why bother to re-engineer or fix it ? I hear the Lucas electrics are like this......

Dimly brought to you by Joseph Lucas, Prince of Darkness.
Bring on the beer - Served "cool" actually, my two trips over were absolutely delightful !
Leona once ordered a "Tuna and Mayo" sandwich and that's what she got on the plate "Tuna" "Mayo blob" and Bread. She was required to construct it
And then there was the little place in London that advertised "Breakfast all day" Since we had skipped our morning meal to get an early start we thought "that'd be nice" So in we went ! The waiter appears and hands us a menu and ask for our drinks. We read through and pick out some great food. He reappears with our drinks and states "Sorry we've only got fish and chips today"........ok.......Leona and I look at each other.....he then ask "What would you like to order?" uuuuummmmm.....fish and chips ?
It actually turned out to be one of the best dishes of the old cod and potato I've ever had. I always wondered if he was just harrassing us because we were Yanks
The other funny was when we stopped in a pub and were looking at the food menu above the bar, the bar maid says "Sorry no food tonight...cooks gone out for the evening" that led to my first meal of Curried Chicken ! its never been the same since !
