Here's my new Mini! His name is Preston!

Well I said I was getting another Mini and here he is !

I've named him "Preston"

added suitable decals.....

Plans call for a U-Stripe on the bonnet errrrr, hood and a badge holder in the grill work.

Ok, so Preston isn't a MINI Cooper, but he is a Minivan

Hauling my aircraft is soooooo much easier now !

That's my old GT in the photo, gave "it" to charity

Cheers,

Mike

That's hilarious, Mike! When you told us that Leona was thinking of getting a MINI, I actually spent time trying to guess what color and type would fit her best.

Then you drop a silver Minivan on us.

Love the U-stripe idea.

Thanks everyone....I'm so proud of my purchase

Actually, Preston is great, He is a "Caravan S" the S being for Sport ! He's got a ton of miles on him but he's still in good shape, especially for the limited use. I can haul my planes and also my bike which fits into my diet and exercise plan quite well ! A little over 15 pounds gone so far ! Lots more to go but I'm looking forward to some Smokey Joe's and Ritas

I like the Jack mirror covers ! I'll pursue that with paint and tape !

Glenn, if things start going better (I'll tell you more later) Leona will get another MINI, possibly a Clubby. No telling what color yet......personally I have been a little disappointed with the color choices that have been made available......I wish the Oxy blue or Nightfire Red were available on the Cooper S ! Although, I think a Clubby in Wensley's space blue and silver would look real sweet ! Maybe it will return by the time we're ready.

Don't worry about Preston showing up for any runs, twisties are definately not his specialty !

Cheerz

Mike

I just threw up in my mouth, a little.

Actually, our previous vehicle is a big tree SUV, so minivan is not much more offensive and somewhat more practical.

Strangely, i've been plotting a Spitfire motif (aka rondel decal) for our Sparkling Silver MCSC, the fascination undefined yet pervasive since slightly after the formative years, Peanuts, and Snoopy's Sopwith Camel.

Congrats Mike on the new "Mini".... Practical choice.... but I still can't picture you sitting behind the wheel... it'll take some getting used to !

Derek.

P.S. And Mike does this after I tell the wife that nobody by Minivans because of fuel economy....

He's going to get a trailer hitch so I can haul the sailboat so that kinda rules out the twice pipes

Thanks for the vote of confidence ! I was day dreaming on the way to work (still driving though ) about the cockpit checkout and flight

At the risk of offending the R56 MCS folks.....their scoop......treading lightly......is fake ! not to mention the lack of S/C whine....just like Preston ! Perhaps a decal to simulate one ! Hah !

At my flying club, everyone is nuts about US Miltary planes.....to the point that they think (and most Americans) that we were the only ones involved in WWII. So, I chose to represent the RAF at "RAF Laurel" a little piece of England in the middle of Maryland My planes wear schemes with stories like my P-40, actually a Kittyhawk MkIa, flown by Squadron Leader "*****" Williams. He was shot down, captured and participated in the "Great Escape" unfortunately, he was one of the 50 captured and murdered by the Gestapo. So, he flies on, right here in the US. My P-51 has RAF markings for Three-one-five squadron "Polish" and my P-47, One-three-zero squadron, South East Asia Command. I have a roundel for the badge holder but it just doesn't look right with Wensleydale, it needs the yellow surround. Post pics when you get yours done !

Derek...yeah I bet I look like quite a nerd driving old Preston I still hit the apex though ! even if the tires are moaning under the strain ! As for fuel consumption, I'm surprised I get 20 mpg average ! That's with the V6 too !

Man I hate the oil companies ! Why we put up with this kind of blatent abuse is amazing
