Good news from MoT

They are considering to open their service department ....... on Saturday.

By appointment only, of course.

I hope they'll be fully staffed on Saturdays; I'd hate to be the lone mechanic on duty.

Nope, for now it won't be fully staffed, from what I heard. That is why it is for appointment only.

But it's better than not openning at all, isn't it?

That is great news...there is obviously a demand for this. For now I am fortunate I can sneak out of work for 2-3+ hrs and take the car during the week...but in the future I may not be so lucky!

I'm wondering if there is a way for all of us to put some 'pressure' on them to do so...I suppose it can't hurt to put in some sort of formal suggestion with mgmt next time I am up there.

I think they don't want to put too much load to their service team. Working full time 5 days a week is a lot already.

They said this is a try-out to start only for appointment only, I believe they are looking for open at full scale in the future. Time will tell.

You might want to check on what service wil do on Sat before getting too excited. Most dealerships I've delt with in the past few years have basic techs only on Sat, I.E. Oil changes and scheduled maint. Which is better than nothing I grant you...

Per the best SA in the country, as she told me last week, MoT will be open on Saturdays soon. And yes, service will be by appointment only. Then again, I thought it was always by appointment.

Cool for us, sucks for the mechanics !!

They are 100% opening the service department starting in April for service appointments on Saturdays. I was just up there Friday (and Saturday) and Rose confirmed it to me. (Also, they have signs up all over the place!)

Im going to schedule something with Rose for my first ever 5,000 mi service. What should I expect? I don't want them messing with my wheels or brakes and especially not my ECU.

Expect to spend a few hours waiting with the car. I do not know if they will give you a loaner for only a 5000 mile service. Be very clear what you want and what you don't. Read the manual about what they automatically do ever service interval so you know what to expect. I like to bring a list of the things that are bothering me because when I sit down up there I usually forget 1/2 of the items.
