Well, it's not my habit to check out Otto's boot (TMI), but as a consolation prize I'd be glad to come up after your operation and give him a thorough washing

And I hope you're back to your quick old self in no time! Who knows, without all that pain you might even be faster, if that's possible

Thanks for the kind words Katie.

Don't worry, I hear there's some nice roads where you're going too.

Thanks for the offer Ed, but detailing Otto is one of the things I was looking forward to to kill time as I recuperate. I might even attempt to clean my pickup.

Good luck with the surgery Bill. Maybe you can get Jeff to do the physical therapy.

I'm the surgeon's first patient tomorrow. I'm gonna suggest that he warms up by practicing on Jeff first.

So, you or Jeff is going to be my navigator on the Cumberland run?

Good luck, Bill! Let us know how everything goes ASAP.

As far as the re-run on the 27th, I don't think Bev and I can make it.

I plan to be highly medicated that day trying to calm my nerves for the Summit Point event the next day.

Hey Bill-

Best of luck tomorrow! Let me know if you need anything or change your mind and want some help with cleaning OMB

I suspect I'll miss your re-run, too That would be an awful lot of driving before the track day at Summit. I'll probably be doing last minute prep stuff like applying a fresh coat of Zaino, changing the oil, rotating the tires, etc. And I'm going to need my wits about me to keep from being blown off the track by all you guys with S cars and high performance mods. I hope you folks with superchargers, turbos and sticky street sneakers have pity on those of us with stock Just-a-Coopers with OEM runflat tires

Of course, I'll probably be getting better than 30mpg while you blow by me

I looking for the others at the track, something like: GTI, SI or MS3.
I'm on you side.

I'm alive!

Just got back home from recuperating at my mom's house.

Surgery was much less painful than I recall when I had it done 16 years ago.
I may have been confusing my ACL repair with my meniscal job.

Thanks for all the support.

Already disregarded dr.'s orders and drove the pickup home a day before being OK'd for driving. Mom's just around the corner (literally) so I don't think it was a major no-no.

Once I got home, I tried to get into Otto. Success! Leg felt good moving between gas and brake.

Looks like MINI therapy starts tomorrow.

I was expecting to be a non-motorer for at least a week. Musta been all of your get well wishes.

well, medical technology has advanced in 16 years, so I imagine it was an orthoroscopic surgery.
Did you have meniscus repair? That'll take time to heal, so please don't over do it or do too much too soon. You don't have to get it done again...

Hi Katie.

Yep, arthroscopy for a torn medial meniscus.

Following dr.'s orders(except the short excursion this morning).

Just seeing what's doable as far as bending and such.

Not trying to be a hero. If I feel pain, I stop.

Glad everything went okay, Bill.

Now get your rest so you can join us at Summit Point on the 28th. The organizer told me spaces were filling up quick so you better hurry. Then again, don't organizers always say that?

Super! MINI therapy... excellent way to go. Now as long as the guys from work don't see you out there bonding with OMB while you're supposed to be on sick leave .....

Thanks Bill for the route, I cannot see ever getting tired of that one. Driving on the run is nice because I can forget about where I'm going and concentrate on good smooth driving I really have no clue where we were, just one corner to the next !

Chris:

This is a really nice shot ! Excellent quick thinking !

Team MellowYellow.......my 35 cents is in the post !

Marina- Thanks for the quiz, I didn't fair well but I knew the color of the GP !

Mike
