Wheel Refinishing in the Area

Can anyone recommend a wheel refinisher/cleaner in the area?

A few of you may have seen my wheels in the past few months, the clearcoat looks like it has been eaten away. it was from using a spray on/rinse off cleaner. I am going through the companies warranty and they want me to get an estimate on having them professionally cleaned or even resurfaced. I have to get all 4 done.

I have a feeling it might cost close to the same to just get a new set.

I've got 17" TDR PR1's

Thanks for any leads.

Tate called someone near them when NTB scratched the heck out of one of my R105's. It came out great.

I am not sure who MoS uses, but we have Edge's wheels that were refinished and they were done great as well.

I think I have heard of a company called Wheel Worx or Works. Not sure about them though.

Cool. I'll try to call them tomorrow. I called wheel refinishers in Annapolis and they want 140 a wheel. At that cost I might as well just see if I can get new ones for 15-20 bucks more per wheel.

$150/wheel is the going rate. I called Ye Ole Wheel Shop and a few others recommended to me by the local Subaru guys.

Performance by Jax can sandblast them for you for $100/set. Do that, get some proper wheel paint and redo them yourself for maybe $200 spent including mount/balance (though you've got to have a spare set obviously to use in the meantime). I've got some R91's I'm doing just that on.

I used Wheel Worx for my Bmw's wheels. They do an amazing job and definately know what they are doing. They are in Millersville w/ a # of 410-969-7282.

keep in mind you shouldn't normally powdercoat forged wheels. They bake the wheels at 450F. Forged wheels weaken over 400F. IR curing is best for forged.

American Stripping in Manassas is the big powdercoater in the area...I'd guess everybody sends to them.

Unless they do a low temp powder coat don't have the BBS centers done. As PGT mentioned the temps used are too high. Have them painted, not only is is the recommended method but you have a much better color selection. You can even specify a mini paint code and have an exact match to the car. I know it works great in Space Blue, needs some LM's already done?

i heard of high heat used in powdercoating will crack/ snap wheels when they are pushed hard on the road. so any shops that will 'paint' the wheels professionally? maybe PGT can paint it for me i don't want to sand it down and all them crazy shizzles cuz for one, i'm not so confident and two, i ain't got time to sand them spokes on bbs... hahah

any recommendations?
