Bad experience with MINI of Sterling / Enterprise billing, staff

Anyone else had really bad experiences trying to get an Enterprise loaner-car billing error fixed when the Mini of Sterling management doesn't seem to care?

On 8/23 I dropped off Foamy for his 10,000 mile service and picked up the free loaner that my service advisor had arranged. That afternoon the service was running a bit behind and the service dept. authorized a second day of rental.

On the morning of 8/24, I returned the rental (25-hour point), picked up Foamy, and drove home, after agreeing to pay Enterprise $5 to top off the tank.

Three days later Enterprise bills me for the $5 plus $36.62 for one of the rental car days.

I drive all the way back to Sterling on 9/1 and tell the Enterprise agent what went wrong. She says she'll start the credit process for the $36 and it should be reflected in my account in 3-4 days.

When nothing happens, I call MOS again and again and again on 9/11, trying to have someone, anyone, return my call and tell me what went wrong. That afternoon Brian in Customer Relations calls me, explains that it was a miscommunication between MOS and Enterprise, and that my credit would be processed immediately.

9/14 and still no credit. This really scares me. If they can't do the most basic inter-office communication, can't work the credit card machine, and can't return phone calls, how am I to believe they remembered to actually change my oil or check the brakes?

I think I might drop by the dealership tomorrow and get the General Manager's angle on all this. Hopefully he'll be able to explain why I should trust them in the future.

Heading out to the garage to see what color my oil is,

--Doug

MOS problems

We had several problems with this dealer when we made our purchase- mostly over statements made by the sales rep. After a heart to heart with the GM, everything was resolved to our satisfaction and then some. Good luck!

Nice to see another Mini owner in our area. We live in Bristow. If you see us out & about wave. We have an Air & Space vanity plate: MINISR for the SR71 Blackbird. We do see a lot of Mini's but not a friendly in the bunch

Ummm, "Jerry's kids"?

Isn't that a reference to Jerry Lewis' Annual Labor Day telethon for kids with muscular dystrophy?

I just bought a new Mini from Mini of Sterling but I do NOT take it there for any general maitenance. Instead, I take it to Curry's of Sterling (ask for Jon Koford). They are also doing all of the performance tuning / enhancements on my car...

Don't know why you would be against taking it to MoS (your "NOT" remark hints at that), at least for warranty work and the included maintainence (3 years, 36,000 miles). Their service department is actually very good, as far as the "quality of work" goes. Most of the gripes have been about poor communication, not the work itself.

But hey, it's your car, take it where you want.

I got

a charge on my CC for 146 dollars from Enterprise. This is after I had to leave my car at MOS longer because "they ordered the wrong parts". I'm still waiting to hear back from them on if they will pay for it.
