Going all out

Sorry if this has been asked already, BUT, I'm looking to go all out on my manual '12 countryman all4. What I'm wondering is if anyone has modified their mini in a manner similar to what I'm looking to do. Planning on dropping in a K&N, Borla, crap industries 2" lift and sliding some general grabber at2's the size I'm looking to go with are the 255-55-18. Has anyone run a tire this big with those other (or similar) mods? Just wondering if anyone has had luck or problems with any of the above. I'm used to lifting and tweaking trucks but haven't done anything small like this before. Thanks for the input

Going all out

first off the general at2s are crap

second i have not heard of anyone getting that big a tire in the wheel well

most drop to a 16 or 17 inch wheel

on my none lifted cms all4, the largest tire that fit with no rubbing is a 205/70R16 with an OD of 27.3 inches a 27.5 inch OD tire rubbed bkth under suspension compression and at full steering lock

Thanks for the feedback, the crap industries website says they fit a tire that big under it after it was lifted. And I have had great results with the general. But otherwise, what tire would you suggest that has a moderately aggressive tread, and a speed rating above 125mph, with a warranty of around 60k miles?
Thanks

on my 97 gmc sonoma 4x4, i only got 20k miles out of the generals, the lowest mileage tire i've had over it's 300,000 miles and it had poor tractoon in the wey and in snow

the best i've had is the bfg at ko2

I got about 45k out of my first set of grabbers on my ridgeline, and the shop comped me for the the other 15k. I got about 70k outta my second set. How did the bfg's tread wear ?

I have 245/45/18s on 18x8 wheels and it's a tight fit on the inner side. I think you'd rub on the suspension components with a 255.

Eg3, thanks for the help. Would it be excessive to ask if you could load a pic of the top of the tire where it would contact the base of the suspension component? Just trying to judge how much room I actually might have. If not, no worries. Thanks

I'll take a pic tomorrow if I can. I am lowered so it's a tight fit. On the other side, since you'll be lifted, you can add some spacers to get inner clearance. Just be aware that with 245s the tires stick out slightly from the fenders. 255s will stick out even more. Here's how 245s look like on mine:

Thanks boss, it looks sick. I kinda like the the look of the tires hanging out slightly.. And those are 245-45-18's? The sidewalls look a bit on the narrow side, but awesome none the less.

Awesome, so that's a bit tight, and how much room do you have on the top of the tire? Between the tread and the base of the coil assembly?

That... is for another time It's not exactly easy to take a pic without lifting the car. This was taken when I was switching to summers.
