tpms question

I am putting together a full size spare for the all4. I am unsure what to do with the tpms on the spare. Will the Mini handle five tires, or will it go into engine meltdown from the confusion.

The car is a blast to drive, but sometimes I feel I am traveling inside a cell phone....

Only 4

5 will cause problems. Even with the spare in the way back it caused an error for me. Ended up removing the sensor on my spare.....

Wow, never thought of that...assumed a tire and wheel not mounted on the car would not be sending a signal...

Yeah, I'm not an expert for sure, but I thought the way TPMS works on the CM is that the sensor rotating on the wheel senses how often it passes a magnet that's in a fixed position on the car near each wheel, and that the computer will detect an underinflated or flat tire because it has a smaller diameter and is therefore rotating faster than the others...and that other sensors in or around the car would not emit a signal (and confuse the computer) given that they are not passing by a magnet.
