bmw e53 x5 17" (42mm offset) rims on countryman all4?
Hello,
I have searched a lot but can't find an answer to this.
Sold my wife's 2005 x5 and bought a Countryman All4. We have an extra set of 17" OEM wheels with snow tires. Can we use these rims as winter wheels on the Countryman? (I realize the tires may not work).
As far as I can tell the bolt pattern and center bore are the same; the difference is the offset of 42mm on the x5 vs. 50mm on the Countryman. Is this a dealbreaker?
thanks!

I'm running wheels and studded tires from a 2006 BMW 330iX, my prior car. The offset is 34 which puts the wheel outside of the wheel well a bit. The result is a dirtier car when driving through slush... I used the tires from the BMW also: 225/45 R17. The dimeter is 24.97" which is an inch less resulting in the speedo reading about 5mph low at 60mph. Actually I suspect it was reading low to start with. That or everybody drives way over the speed limit in Anchorage, Alaska. I'm debating on putting the correct size snow tires on (225/50 R17). Has anybody done this? Do they rub?

I do.
Set up the BMW Style 57 rims (just like the green CM above) from X5. Got them dirt cheap on KIJIJI and powder coated in matte black.
Got some Hankook 225/50/17 for winter.
These rims are et40 and the car looks sick! Check out my Instagram gallery for tons of photos... ("StevenMiric")...
I liked the look so much that I got another set of these rims (used) for next spring for summer tires. I will refinish them in body color (blazing red), with the same profile of 225/50/17 (probably with Yokohama SDrives...).
No rubbing anywhere and it looks "mean"... Just the way I wanted: fatty tires and a nice stance with no "monkey business" with lowering the ALL4...
Cheers!

BMW rims
A friend who sold me his Z3 Coupe bought a 2013 Paceman to replace it. He saw my Countryman but wanted a two door. I think he bought the same BMW rims for his Paceman for winter. His is Blue. I just called and left a message for a report on the success of his venture...
