I just bought a set of adapters from EZaccessories. They came in pairs and of course I only needed one. I'd be willing to part with the other one for $40 plus shipping. It fits the Mercedes Space saver tire. I had to drill it out a smidge (14mm) but it fits snug as a bug .

 

SO this whole thread seems a bit confusing. What I'm getting here is the MB 165/1589P needs a spacer to clear brakes and really thats it??? I have the F60 and I believe the F60 is 5x112 and this spare is 5x112. Is the center bore the same as the mini? I don't think it's hard to find a spacer. Any comments. I need this tire.

 

Hi, you need a spacer and a tire. The tire I was able to find on Ebay for $100 shipped. If your car is 2011-2016, you need a 5x120 to 5x112 spacer. I bought a 1" spacer, but it didn't clear my factory 16" rim by a few mm. Given that this is only a spare and I don't plan on driving it more than a few miles at low speed, I attached a few extra washers to the bolt to get the spacing and it worked fine.

If you need a spacer, I can mail you one for $40 (total). I had to buy a 2 pack but only need 1. Send me a p.m..

This solution for a spare is not 100% ideal, but it's better than sacrificing the already small trunk space for a full size wheel.

Thanks for the info. Mine is a 2019 F60 so the bolt pattern is 5x112 which I think is the MB wheel. I just saw a one on ebay for the same for 100 shipped and it sold today from under my nose. lol. The spacer you have if it worked for me I would take. So then I would just need a spacer, correct?

 

I believe it will fit your 2019 with just the spacer. However, if you have JCW brakes, they won't clear this wheel.

 

Most people will swap the rear tire to the front (if the factory front is flat) and the spare on the back so they dont have clearance issues on the spare wheel to the front caliper.

 

So then the MB tire will fit the rear with no spacer? I just picked up a brand new one so I will see shortly also.

Hi Everyone, new to the thread and really great contributions, thank you. Own my first mini, 2015 CM.
trying to get a MB spare set up as shown here. I have secured a collapsible wheel but my question relates more to the spacer which is required.

I am thinking of getting a 22mm spacer but has anyone tried a thicker spacer to clear the front calliper? If so, what thickness of spacer is required?

I'd have concerns about running the donut spare on the front. For one, you'll need such a thick spacer to force it away from the brake calipers that it'll end up sticking out past the fender. That, in turn, is going to affect the handling – on top of having much less rubber on the road for steering control!

Also, be sure you aren't just getting a spacer but a bolt pattern adapter. The Mercedes collapsible spare is almost but not quite the right size. NY_Yankee's photo showing the fit without an adapter is gone, so I'm not sure what exactly he did. From his post it sounds like he ground out the holes.

If your CM is an ALL4 model, you may not be able to safely use a spare at all. Unless the outer diameter of the inflated spare exactly matches the tire opposite on the car, the rear differential may be damaged. But my family has a front-wheel drive Countryman, not AWD, so I'm not 100% certain on this. Hopefully an ALL4 owner can chime in!

Enjoy the Countryman – it's a great car! Keep an eye on the oil level; the turbo charged one in particular tends to consume a bit of oil. Be sure to check and top off every 1000mi or so. (Some use more than others. You might luck out and get one that doesn't burn oil at all!

PS – here's a photo of the spare in our CM. Ours came without the "Storage Package" option, so it didn't have the extra folding floor layer, or the trim to support it. I bought a floor from a NAM member, made a wooden frame for it, and dropped it in. Now the spare tire, jack, and other safety gear and tools are under the floor, with the top available for everything from groceries to beach gear. :-)

 

thanks for the reply and advice Bratling, much appreciated! Great job there in getting your floor option. I have that package on my countryman. I have a CM S but not the ALL 4. I wanted to have the option of putting a spacer on the front wheel in case a puncture happened not far from home/help and it would be just a quicker tyre change, but yeah, not a great idea to have the spare on the drivetrain. If I just have it for the rear tyre what size spacer will I need ? 22mm or bigger? Sorry for calling it just a spacer, bolt pattern adapter!

I have a 2015 R60 All4 JCW and bought a 1.5" (38mm) adapter - haven't tried it on the front yet, clears the back w/o issue. Won't be trying it anytime soon...too cold!

 

Zombie thread! Anyone who uses this set up on a lowered R60 - I noticed all of the test fit pics are on the front, will a 20mm adapter fit on the rear with the inflated tire slightly tucked?
