I installed Hyper Ground System today.
Results: Seems to pull alittle smoother and stronger, Other than that I will have to let you know. I will have to drive it alittle more ito see if it will do what it says it should do.

Better gas mileage
More Torque
More HP

We'll see!

I would agree (about the wild claims). This may be the latest example of voodoo engineering.

 

My son put a set on his 1996 Eclispe Turbo, Got 2 more miles per gallon, and 3 more Hp.& 13 # of Torque.
Not bad for $100.00.
It definetly runs smoother.
So what the heck, I bought a set to see if it would help the Mini in any way.

 

these things are pretty bunk, but on cars that have inadequate electrical systems, it can have an effect, particularly if there are solenoids that draw a lot of power operating at specific points in the rev range (VTEC solenoids, electronic wastegates, in the case of my Mazda, the VCTS solenoids). These things basically just stabilize voltage, and if the voltage is already stable, it will have no effect. In the MC, I doubt we will see any benefit, as we don't have any big solenoids activating and drawing power at certain rpms.

In cars with less stable electrical systems (think of a car where the lights dim when you roll down the windows), these large solenoids can draw enough power to reduce the spark energy, meaning this box will have an effect. On my mazda, there was a 5 whp difference over a small 300-400 rpm window right after the VCTS solenoid engaged that a similar product (buddy club ground kit) showed an effect on an independent dyno. Their claims are valid in some cases, but way exagerated, and far from "typical" results.

 

That was my feeling also. If electrical grounding cables can yield an increase in horsepower, it indicates a deficiency in the original vehicle's design (or quality of build). It will have a different (or no) effect depending on model of vehicle, and there may even be variation between individual cars.

I have noticed a 1 mile per gallon increase in mileage. Is it because of the wires, who knows but I have not changed my way of driving. And the increase is based on highway miles only. 500 mile trip to NYC.

 

No sugnificant gains - not worth the money. But I had to try.

 

I had these on my 92 5.0 GT. They worked really well. Especially...when the car got older. I could definitely see a difference. But, in the MINI, I have no faith in them. I guess they would serve as a preventative measure.
