I was thinking of a way to continue the warm and fuzzy feelings with the Cooper owners out there in MCO land, and I know that free stuff always works.

How about a Pipercross drop-in air filter. Reusable, good for a few horsepower, and much higher quality than the cheesy paper factory element.

Now I just have to come up with a way to award the filter...

How about the Cooper owner that can say the most nice things about MINI-Motorsport? No, that's not right, just a tad too narcisistic.

How about the Cooper owner that can name the first event won by a Mini? No that's too historical, and non-relevant.

How about the Cooper owner that lives in the dirtiest and dustiest climate? No, that's bordering on discrimination.

How about the 25th caller? Too radio stationesque.

OK, I need some suggestions here. Let me know what your idea of awarding the filter should be, and I'll decide (with your help)!

Randy

The cooper owner who guesses your favorite color? To Monty Python-esque.

How about the highest mileage cooper to respond by a certain date? Give it to some one who'll make the most use of it.

Nice idea, Randy (nice post bump, too - you'll get to 1000 in no time ...)
I've got a K&N insert and the Borla on my Cooper - want the headers but haven't counted the change in the piggybank for awhile ... I was thinking, though, that a Throttle Body might be the best next step(?) ... are those available yet?
... and llike i posted in another thread - You are the #1 Power Shifter - lowest Fluff poster in the Gang of Ten ... we appreciate it!!

Carl,

Too easy - it's already been explaines, so all you would need to do is use the search. Now if I had never explained it...

How about whoever comes up with the best idea for the giveaway gets the giveaway!

You can hide a code word somewhere on the MCO site. Those that find it have their names entered into a hat.

This way, people will end up reading threads, forums, etc...that they may have never even looked at.

I like the code word idea, but how would it play out? Would I tell you the code word here on the thread, and then you would have to tell me what other thread the code word is in?

I would really like it if I could do the really cool low voice to say "The password is [insert password here]).

The longest road trip is good too...

I like the photo of the odometer idea, but that counts out those who aren't techie enough to have a digital camera...

How about the person whose MC recorded the lowest dyno numbers? They need it the most.

RandyBMC,

It looks like you're getting really close to the 1000 mark.

Also, without doing a search, I remember reading in an old auto book about the Morris Mini, the term BMC came up. I can't remember what for, maybe a parts supplier or designer or something.

Mines the lowest, because like a football game's score before its start, my dyno numbers are 0 HP to 0 Tq

They owned it. It's the British Motor Company! It was a mess of a business, but they had some pretty cool cars. The fact that it was such a mess made it all the more appropriate in my eyes being that it was british. I love the funky cool of Brits - to hell with business strategies - let's just make some cool cars!

Oops, Just remembered that the "search" function may pretty much kill the code-word idea!

How about something similar to the code word, a scavenger hunt?

Have some key pieces of info planted here at MCO and on the mini-motorsport site that need to be found. Get people to look through your site, read through some of the how-to's, find an event or fellow member in their region, etc.

Maybe you take the first to get it all, or maybe the first 5,10,?? get dropped into a drawing.

Got another one that would even encourage motoring.

Ever heard of geocaching? Essentially different items are placed in different locals, identified only by a lat/long coordinate. Grab a GPS or use your NAV and head out on the road. Maybe you could get some accomplices to stash these items for you around the country. Whoever finds the most by the contest end, wins!
