Which is better...Milltek or Borla

I'm doing a bit of research for our H Stock MINI. A few years ago we did some testing and I liked the Helix and the MINI Mania (Comptech) exhausts...but since then there's been quite a few new systems coming out for the non-s. I've narrowed down our exhaust choice between the Borla and the Milltek or the Magnaflow.

Has anyone experienced/dyno'ed all of them?

Power..?

Torque..?

Noise..?

Drone..?

Per,

JB has the Milltek on his Cooper. Produces a nice tone, and doesn't drone.

Hey Jim, he mentioned that to me and that's why it's on my radar.

I was told by Mini of Peabody that the Magnaflow systems tend to rattle more than others. It is a one piece unit, and is not adjustable (can't move pipe around to clear things). They were not too impressed from what I was told. They do think the Borla is better. They did not say anything good or bad about the Millitek.

I had the Borla on my previous Cooper, and found it to drone a bit on the highway. I'm 90% decided on the Milltek for my '05; just waiting for my January bonus so it doesn't feel like an irresponsible purchase.

I have had a Milltek on my Cooper for over 1.5 years...although it has only seen 5K miles since it was installed. I personally love it.

If you want to see pics of it, they are on Webb Motorsports site, Randy fitted the prototype to my car back in early spring of 2004.

I love the sound, and I also have the Moss intake, which is shielded so it only gets cold air as of now.

The combined sound is great, even at low RPM. Sounds great inside as well. Sporty enough to make me happy, but quiet enough to keep Betsy and my mother happy...they both HATE loud cars.

I think Randy reported about a 3-4hp gain. Not really noticed by me personally. Stock, I dyno'd at 108 hp....so my guess is an expected 112. (this was in the Denver area so altitude is an issue) With intake, maybe 116 at the most. I do feel I lost a little low end torque though, have to give it a bit more gas to get going, but I adjusted.
