hello ,

What intake and some come with a heat shield others don't ? What Cai did you buy , they are not true CAI unless they are closed off from the engine heat / air

This like will give you the options .

If you bought an intake with no heat shield them you would have to make one

I do believe it's just a generic brand. I got it off of some guy from ebay well it was more of the guy on behalf of the company but it didn't come with any kind of heat shield.

Yea, thats some universal add on unit that has the same dimension on the neck on the stock intake boot. You would have to make metal shield and make it seal to the hood when closed. Like and L shape or a box , use the hood as the top of that box.

Thanks so much!! I'll be sure to try it out!! Do you think I'll be able to use the silhouette of the stock air box?!?!

Thats what I would use as a template. The box will need to support the stock air inlet also from the lower tube. So you dont cut off easy air from the front above the core support.

Good luck.

Does that cardboard get hot new to the engine , also if water gets on it from the rad area , it might not last long. But like to see you metal set up.

I monitor all my intake temps with a scan gauge
stays closers to ambient temp than the stock airbox and without the shield

I don't like the placement of the ddm so I decided to try this
