Dinan Front Strut Tower Brace on an R50?

Does anyone know whether the Dinan FSB will work on an R50? I remember having one on my old R53, and it pushed the hood up a little. Not sure whether the hood on the R50 will handle it. Dinan website says its for the R53, but just wondering if anyone knows otherwise.

Thanks!

FYI, just spoke with a dinan rep - no go on the R50. Only for R53's.

Of course it will fit. You will just have to remove the battery cover. Tell the Dinan rep he doesnt know his stuff... Someone make a cut away battery cover for a brace for the R50. Might even be OEM. Measure the width of the cut away...you might get lucky....

Thanks for the response!

At this point, I'd rather keep the battery cover on. Seems like too much trouble and expense for the results associated with the FSB. Probably just going to throw in a thicker RSB at some point and non-RFT when these go. Also thinking a whalen shift **** and perhaps the DDM intake if I get really bored. Other than that, going to focus on upgrading my driving skills.

Almost all of the strut braces I've seen are R53-specific, since, see above, the brackets are too tall to allow the hood to close without denting it. I bought a set with steel brackets, cut them down about 13mm and welded the shortened bits back on. Then I made my own battery cover out of a piece of thick Lexan painted black. That allowed the brace to clear the battery. In the end, too much bother.
