Oxygen sensor problem

Hi guys, i bought off ebay a Bosch oxygen sensor recently, part number 13878, which is the part number i found when i was looking for the correct one. I tried to install it but it will not clip into the connector, because there is a slight difference. I am under the impression that the US models have a slightly different connector. Could someone take a pic please of the connector to see if it's different between Euro and US models?

O2 sensor??

Hi Nick,

Sorry, as I haven't checked the forum lately to see what you're up to. Did anyone get you a pic? I have an o2 sensor in the shop and can snap a pic of it if need be.
Regards,

cw

Something is odd. The 13878 sensor is identified in a couple of threads on this forum as an exact replacement. Amazon.com has a couple of reviews from Gen 1 owners that say this sensor is an exact replacement, one of whom identifies his location as California. I hope someone on this forum who participated in the original thread will speak up.

Hey Nick,

See if this is the pic you're looking for.

I've run into this problem....I had to swap the connector housing or modify it to work. And in the end the Bosch didn't work anyway( it cooled of at idle and started sweeping very erratically and set codes...

Were you using Bosch 13878? Thought that was supposed to be the exact replacement...?

What did you end up using?

The exact replacement O2 sensor in my '03 MINI is the NTK 25648. I tried the ACDelco and Bosch and both threw codes. I put the NTK in, everything is okay again.

I found out it was NTK when I pulled the original off. Although the MINI sensor has different numbers on it, NTK assured me that their aftermarket sensor is the exact same sensor as the original MINI one, and my experience certainly shows that to be true.

Ι also replaced mine with the NGK (NTK) one, my OEMs are also NTK, and it works ok.
