Cooper white (non-S) with aero gril???

hi guys i am from greece and i am waiting delivery on my new mini cooper P/W.

Chilli package
black bonnet stripes
sunroof and blah blah blah

I have a question...since i opted for the driving lights my dealer told me i can opt for the aero grill with them. The conversation came up because i was telling him how much i like the cooper S grill...so he told me that i can change to the aero grill since i allready bought the driving lights.

does anyone have a picture of something similar because i ve never seen something like this(a normal mini cooper P/W with aero grill and driving lights)

Also what do you think of my idea to put an aero grill on a non S car...does it look like a wannabe cooper S

thanx so much you guys have an excellent forum...and when i get it (15th of February :( i will post pictures whether i go with the chrome grill or the aero grill.

Also for people who would like to know about modifications for the normal cooper there is a company here in greece that told me by the end of january they will have something.they have three different demos he said(i am not exactly sure what that is !?!) And i know that they deal with bluefin superchips mostly so maybe is something from there...

Anyway nice to be here i plan to update as soon as i get my mini...

If you go with the black grill see if the black MINI driving lights are available. I think the black lights would look good with the grill. I might do this mod myself.
I found this on the MINI 2 site:

i ve been reading that there is some problem of fitting this grills on a normal cooper, how did you put your grills was there any problem of fitting?I read in these forums that you must have the cooper S bumper or the JCW bumper but maybe if you change the surround trims as well like these mini coopers pictures there is no problem.

by the way they look far better with this grill excellent mod guys i like it a lot

Actually these are JCW grills specifically for the MC (non S)...the S grill will not fit on the MC (S has a much bigger opening)...i was actually sent the S trim pieces at first and it would not fit (even with removing sertain clips) it is a completely different shape, but once they sent me the trim for the MC (non S) it fit perfectly

minspeed.net is your best bet if you are ordering the grill on your own

Ok so i buy the driving lights from my dealer( i have to buy them from there he did a special price with fitting) with the normal grill with the holes for the brackets (chrome) and then i order this http://www.minspeed.net/R56JCWCSG.htm and it will fit with my stock chrome surround?

Or can i order this grill from my dealer....is it from the factory or minspeed makes them?

The dealer will probably be pricier, but you could ask. It should fit with the chrome. I plan on doing the same thing.

The dealer should have it...it's the grill for the MC JWC kit. Im not sure if the dealer will sell it separetly though. I say your best bet is to order the grill with the holes for the driving light from minspeed.net and then once it arrives, take it with you and then have the lights installed...that way they put it on with the grill you want...also dont let them charge you a half hour for labor on the grill...it only takes 5 min so do it yourself and then take it in for the lights....or even better, they are going to have to take the grill off to install the lights so all the have to do is put ur new one back on for free....just dont let them charge you for a grill install

I guess i can tell him that i want the MC JCW driving light kit directly...and i will just pay the price difference, if there is, with the normal MC Driving light Kit.I hope he will do it, he made a special offer with the purchase of the car for the MC light kit and fitting (350 euro)...If the MC JCW kit is more expensive i will tell him i will pay the difference i believe its gonna cost me less than ordering the grill from minspeed

Anyway i will update soon...i tried to go to the Dealer and spoke with the guy in the Parts and Accessories department and he didnt gave me a straight answer...he told me i ll need the production number of the car before i go ahead and check your options :(

Propably he was just 2 bored to check it and he gave me excuses.

Oh by the way i went to a company here in Greece called Minispeed (no correlation with minspeed). They do modifications only for Minis. He told me that by the end of january they will have a remap(Bluechip) for the r56 Cooper propably gives 12hp + K&N Appolo filter says 8HP...They have seen combined gains of 20Hp.

He gave me a total price of 1200 euro ,800 for the remap and 400 for the K&N fitted. So things are starting to coming in i dont know if the claims are real i will have to wait till the end of the month that they expect to launch it as a first stage kit...
