Question about tires for my 1979 Austin Morris
Question about tires for my 1979 Austin Morris
I'd like to upgrade my skinny 10 inch tires to 5x12 minilites. I was told I might need spacers. I wanted to ask before I purchase. Any help is appreciated.

I've got a set of nice 12's with good rubber for sale here in PA. Pics on my website. www.westpaminis.com
With larger rims & tires, you may have to trim (ie, cut open) your wheel arches for clearance (esp 13") I had 13" and prefer 10s fr the look and handling. They are what the car was designed for after all.
the rims may be 4x10, the tires may be 145, 155 or 165 x10
10" rims are made in 1/2 increments from 3.5" on up. I run 165/70x10 Yoko A008s on Minilights that are 10x6.
The origional size tires are 4x10 (very skinny). I seen a set of 5x12's I'd like to get.

I have 145's 10" rims.
I decided to purchase with 10's (165/70R10). I'd rather be safe than sorry.
My hubby said there was not much clearance above the tires and that worries me about going any bigger.
Thanks!
