I'd like to upgrade my skinny 10 inch tires to 5x12 minilites. I was told I might need spacers. I wanted to ask before I purchase. Any help is appreciated.

no spacers needed unless you are trying fill the arches.
what size tens are you running.?

fyi: twelves are not as common as 13s.

 

12's In The Proper Size May Be Harder To Find Than 10's....

 

The origional size tires are 4x10 (very skinny). I seen a set of 5x12's I'd like to get. So you say I could actually go to 13's? I do have standard arches on the car. Thanks. Shirley

With larger rims & tires, you may have to trim (ie, cut open) your wheel arches for clearance (esp 13") I had 13" and prefer 10s fr the look and handling. They are what the car was designed for after all.

the rims may be 4x10, the tires may be 145, 155 or 165 x10
10" rims are made in 1/2 increments from 3.5" on up. I run 165/70x10 Yoko A008s on Minilights that are 10x6.

 

I have 145's 10" rims.
I decided to purchase with 10's (165/70R10). I'd rather be safe than sorry.
My hubby said there was not much clearance above the tires and that worries me about going any bigger.

Stay with the 10" tires. Go to www.greatbritishcars.com. They carry Falken 165-70/10 tires.
