Battery Kill Switch

Anyone use or have used a Battery Kil Switch. I saw one listed on MiniMania.

Seems a simple enough idea, just wondering if anyone has used it.

And then the other quesiton would be has anyone gone to the extent of putting a loJack or something similar into their mini?

I used these years ago in the 70's on my Alfa Romeo.

I made my own. Ran a wire from the coil to a hidden switch under the dash. Flip the switch and no power. Great idea, never thought about it for the MINI.

On another note, what type of Alfa did you have? Living in Sicily, AR's are everywhere!.. I have an AR 75 2.0TS.. love it!

I use a battery kill switch in my 1971 Austin Mini. I don't drive it much during the winter, and that helps keep the battery from going dead.

I use this style on mine. They work well and are cheap(ebay) In the winter I take the batteries out(I have two minis) and they are on a trickle charger.Batteries don't like to be idle.

That's exactly what my "battery kill" looks like. I don't remove the battery during the winter because then I'd never drive the car. This way, just tighten down the screw and it's ready to roll. I'd use a trickle charger if the parking spot were nearer to an electrical outlet. I also use the gas additive to keep the gas in the tank from turning into sludge.

Harbor Freight has these:
Battery cutoff

Battery switch

And another one that I bought at HF, that I can't see on the site that is a removable key type, almost like for a racing application.

i have the key style kill switch but if you have a radio or car alarm you might want to use a fuseable link with a 5amp fuse which will allow you to kept you preset radio stations and allow you alarm to function. but if anyone trys to start the car the fuse will blow and the car won't start.
