Wouldn't it say on the tire itself? Different tire brands might require different pressures, even if they were the same size tires.

not exactly. a tire lists the maximum tire pressure, but the recommended tire pressure depends on the vehicle.
For example, my other vehicle is Ford F250, the tires on the truck say max pressure 80 PSI. However the recommended tire pressure is 55 PSI front/70 PSI rear.

So in the same way I'm wondering what the recommened tire pressure is for the minis.

I agree.. you're going to have a different pressure if you have one person who has donuts and another who has low profiles..

It depends on the tire, in the end

the tires are 145/80R10 Marshal (probably British as the car just came over in May). The tires say maximum tire pressure is 44 PSI.

The car is about 1593 lbs.

So does anyone have any ideas on correct tire pressure.
and, yes I've already looked for the sticker on the door panel, but it is gone.

I run 26

I run 26 - ruffly consistent with the Haynes for 165/70 x 10 wheels - wear pattern shows no serious problems after two years.

Haynes
radials front rear
in bars (1 bar = 14.5 psi)
145SR x 10 1.9 1.8
145/70SR x 12 2.0 2.0
165/60 x 12 2.0 2.1
165/70 HR x 10 1.7 1.7 (1.7 = 24.6 psi)
175/50 VR x 13 2.0 1.8

Crossply 1.7 1.6

Haynes notes these figures are for original equipment tires....may vary with other than original equipment fitment

When you can't find a listing for a car or trailer, look at the tire for two numbers . Maximum pressure, and the load it can carry at the maximum pressure. Then do a little arithmetic, and add a safety margin.

I run #32 on the front and #28 on the rear. This gives a good balance of grip for normal driving. This works with my set of Goodyears and my set of Dunlops on 10" wheels. I have a new set of the Yokohama 13" that I need to run. Anyone have a pressure that they like on these? If not, I will start at 32 and 28.

My manual for my Clubman Estate gives 28# front 26# rear for 145-10 radials. It handles and rides better with the extra couple pounds in each.
