Go Mini? Mini Service in Atl?
Go Mini? Mini Service in Atl?
So, a quick question....
I am looking to get a classic, exactly when sort of depends on money and the wife (as usual). But in doing some research, I went to gomini.com
The website was sort of out of whack, but I remember it being that way a few years ago. I had gone to the shop and talked to the guy etc years ago.
So, I emailed gomini and that was like 2 weeks ago. Anyone know if they are defunkt? (sp)
I only went to their site because I called minitec (which is MUCH closer to me) and the guy that answered didn't know anything about the classics, only the vtec side of it.
So, anybody know of
a) a service place in Atlanta
b) if gomini is out of business
Thanks

I don't know if you've done this yet, but you might want to try posting on the AtlantaMINIs page... there are several folks out there with classics.

Good luck.

Good luck.
I don't know of anyone in the area that does service for classics. I have used a mechanic friend, but it has definately been a learning curve for him. If you are looking to buy I would suggest looking in the marketplace on atlantaminis.net forum. One of our members has a very nice well taken care of classic up for sale.

Go check out the Marketplace on the Atlanta Minis site. There is a guy in Doraville selling 10 classics. I would love to get one but they are all RHD, which would never work for me
.
Here's the link to his pics, but you'll need to go the the thread to get his email address to ask about the cars.

I don't know anything about this place except that they play with little British cars and they are in Atlanta,
Chic's Road Brittania, 2711 Piedmont Road, Atlanta, 404-262-1056
And the Roadspeed Garage in Cleveland, Georgia, I spoke with him about working on my race Mini and he seemed to know his stuff,

I drive a RHD Mini as daily transport, I really enjoy it.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Charlie Grant and I live in Hartwell, Ga
(NE Ga.) My son and I bought a '76 1000 from Bobby Pack (Gomini) about a
year ago. Shortly afterwards I could not get in touch with him? I had Minitec paint the car and they did a great job! As far as finding a shop to service Minis, it is getting harder to find shops that are willing to work on cars that outside of their normal scope of work. I own a small import repair shop in NE Ga. and welcome cars that are somewhat out of the everyday norm. I have worked on Alfa Romeos, Morgans (3 &4 wheelers), Jags, Porsches, Lamborghinis, Minis, Morris Monors etc...I enjoy working on the classics.
If I can be of any assistance, please call me at 706-376-7623 or pm me.

Any Pic? how much did they charge if you are willing share. Paint is in the plan for next year (wife willing
), and I am looking around for a good location to get it done. ThanksMatt
Looks real nice. was it 2 stage paint or single stage? interior and exterior (or just door jams, etc). any drips runs afterwards or did it come out pretty clean (looked clean in the pics)? Thanks again, hope that wasn't too many questions.
Matt
They painted the car inside as well. I've not found any drips or runs, only
one or two specks of dust. I'm very pleased for the price. The same quality
paint job for a Porsche in Atl would be over $6000
