1979 Austin Morris 1000

Leyland White with an original, lovely , but near mint, brown stripped interior. Previous U.K. were elderly owners rarely drove it on rare occasions and kept it garaged. 28,000+ miles on it. In terrific shape .

Hi Everybody,
Yep, I have a 1969 Classic Mini.

Maybe you saw it when I drove it to the east coast and back to Portland, OR when I did MTTS 2006 in it.
35 days on the road, over 10,000 miles, 28 states and made over 5,000 new friends .

Keith

I would have joined you in the VTEC if I had a single life with no responsibilities

I think I have seen your car at AMVIV right?

Yep, it won "Best of Show" last year at AMVIV 3.
It's staying home this year.

02-04 RSX Type S was was what I understood but I really didn't have questions in mind (like a normal person would likely have had )...and I think it's actually the K20A2 though I noted K20A.

Six speed? Not to my knowledge but at the time the conversation I was having was with Norman about the B-18 and that I recall was a 5. Don't know. I guess I ought to add that to my list next time I call them...I hate calling though and I don't think they're thrilled either.

Hi all, im Bryan and live in Melbourne in Australia. I came accross this site by chance and after reading through a lot of posts i thought i would join up and add my 2 cents worth
I am restoring a 1964 morris 85o (Australian built) at the moment. Not into keeping it original... thats for the next time in 10 or so years!! Ive had the car for about 4 years (mabey closer to 3) and have had it off the road under a full resto for the past 12 months.
I bought the car in Perth (Western Oz) and drove it to Melbourne without touching it really! Thats about 4500 kilometers or 2000 miles!! Since then i have done a trip up to the north eastern tip of Oz (another 4500km each way) and back to Melbourne. I figure cars a re built to be driven and the mini is just so much fun!
My car has had a few lives in its 43 years and when i got it it was red wut a white roof... the paint was eons old and powdery but at the time all i had the cash (and) time to do was a quicky respray in the back yard with the help of my flatmates! The result was something quite radical!! That stuck for a couple of years and now im doing something more readical!!! Giving the Union Jack paint job a new twist!! (showing the cars heritage).
here is a pic of the Express as it was when i first got her!(I call her the Nullarbor Express ... the nullarbor is a desert in Oz that i had to cross to go from Perth to Melbourne)

and then after the back yard paint job!

and finally a taste of the rebuild.... this is the union jack paint job....

Well, all the above are the same car... I have posted a restoration thread about the car as well.

BTW. You guys have some nice minis there.

Cheers, Bryan

I agree with Cassy - the new paint on the Nullarbor is ridiculous cool!

Although the back yard paint seemed John Lenon-esque and quite shaggy.

I've gotta agree with y'all, that's a sweet paint job! It's like the wind is making your paint flap in the breeze.

I'm trying to think if I've ever seen a Mini paint job that is cooler than that. I don't think I have. I'd like to see more of it.

it sure looks like a pain job and not a paint job.
I really like it, but prefer the silver over the gold.

Here's a picture of our classic minis in Manila. I only get to drive them when I go for a vacation. I still do not have the financial means to import it here in the US. maybe in the future.

The pickup was re-bodied to MK3. The one behind it is a 1990 Mini Mayfair. and the 3rd is an original '62 Morris 850 (sold)
