New Question - fuses

I have a 79 that's been pretty heavily re-built b4 I got it. It appears that electrical stuff was knot their strong point. And despite 6 years of college I'll admit that reading electrical diagrams is not my strong point. Sooooo

One of the warts in my 79 is the fuse box. It is a 4 fuse box....it is rusty and had no cover when I got the car. A couple of wires have been removed and jumpered to in-line fuses..... ugh....

I have a new 4 fuse box (with cover) and am about to replace. But can someone who'd either pull the fuses to check or reads the wire diagrams with confidence tell me what size should be in the 4 slots.... Mine is so rusted that I'm knot sure I can get them out to check what's there.

No warranty required...I'm just looking to verify what I think is right.....

From the top of the fuse box according to my owners manual 79 Clubman Estate (verbatim):
  1. Fuse 1-2 (17/35A) Brake lights, reverse lights, direction indicators, heated rear window, carbueretter heater.
  2. Fuse 3-4 (12/25A) Horns, headlamp flasher, brake failure circuit. When an accessory is required to operate independently of the ignition, connect to fuse terminal $ (purple wires)
  3. Fuse 5-6 (12/25A) Heater blower motor, windscreen wipers, washer motor, radio.
  4. Fuse 7-8 (8/15A) Side and tail lights, panel lights
The fusing value is marked on the fuse and cen either be current rated (8A, 12A, or 17A) or blow rated (15A, 25A, 35A).

The following circuits are protected by a line fuse: Hazard warning, interior lamp (8/15A),
Hope that helps!

If you have problems finding the 35A fuses try NAPA. Most of the other parts places (Autozone, Parts America etc) don't have glass fuses bigger than 30A.

Cheers,
Jack
