center gauge pod installation

next question...

i've got a center speedo mounted in the center of my dash. i want to add the center gauge pod as it was originally in the Mk II...

do i need to remove the entire single speedo gauage pod to install the new three gauge pod?

here's a pic of what i'm currently running...

The Mk.II version you show in you pic requires that you do indeed remove the original Speedo "pod" and remount the speedometer in the new, larger pod.

The original Mk.I version had a stamped metal plate that the aux. guages mounted into and fit over the front of the speedo pod; the mounting plate assembly was then covered with a "surround" housing - more pieces (and more cost) than the Mk.II version, but easier to work with.

STLMINI,

If and when you replace your pod to the 3 gauge pod, I'd be interested in buying your old pod from you. That's the exact pod I need for my Mini.
You can email me at CasaMini@comcast.net or angelruiz@scsfrigette.com

Let me know if you need the water & oil gauges. Maybe we can work a deal.
