Recently my wife and I had the fortunate opportunity to purchase an outstanding (newer ) classic from a good friend of ours. I know it was hard for him to part with it. But he has full visitation rights, and is close by. He knows it will be well taken care of. Many thanks to GPG.
Hey, I need to look that car over closely. I'm in the [very] early stages of swapping over everything from my '73 onto a NOS SPI mini shell. I would like to figure out how some of the brackets are used and how the fuel tank mounts to the body. I know the fuel tank mounts differently than mine.
It would be a long while be for we would ever even consider selling.. The previous owner will always have first chance.. But since it is the nicest and lowest miles of our 3 Mini/MINIs, it's here for loooong time.
Did it come with the '37' stickers and the MC40 decals from the factory? I spent a long time searching for my 40th Anniversary Limited Edition in the UK, and TBH I've never seen these stickers as factory options.

No, BMW put those on for the 40th anniversary.. The car was a former UK press car for BMW.. Was used for shows and such.. Then our friend bought from them and shipped it to US in 2006

If it was mine I'd probably take them off then. As an X-reg car its probably a Cooper Sport 500, and thus has nothing to do with the Monte Carlo rally win(s). Sweet looking car though, and I don't think I've seen any 2001 models in the US so far!!

Very interesting - thanks for the link. I'm always interested to know how people get these newer Mini's into the US when they're not over 25 years old. I know its by doing a VIN swap, but the mechanics are what I'm interested in! I had a 1999 40th Anniversary Limited Edition in Ireland, which it had taken me almost 4 years to find, and couldn't bring it to the US when I moved here. I was very sad when I had to see it go but as an attorney I couldn't risk US Customs picking up on it when I went to pick the car up at the Port of Seattle!!
Ok, I have seen this term "sorted" used alot recently in the car world.. Please enlighten the last guy to the party!!
Wow, I guess I deal too much with blokes from the UK.
Sorted: An approving exclamation, brilliant, excellent.
An all purpose expression of satisfaction, contentment.
Something that has been properly repaired or fixed.
