FS: 1973 Austin Mini 1000

The time has come, to sell my classic Mini :(

This is a 1973 Austin Mini 1000 Canadian Model. I acquired this car about two years ago in Wyoming.

Mileage is unknown, the center binions gears arent working so there is no exact mileage. It is stuck at 10,999

It has a 998cc motor, 10" Mamba wheels with almost brand new Yokohama Advan A008's, stock exhaust, has a sunroof

The car has gone through at least one restoration in the last 10 years, the previous owner(s) had replaced the whole interior, and painted it white. Then the owner I bought it from, had it painted red. Not the best quality paint, but it looks good.

The car runs, and drives very well! I haven't drove it much, so the battery needs to be trickle charged, but it runs perfectly and the battery does charge well once you drive it often. Just due to financial issues, I haven't changed the registration/title over to Colorado, that will be buyers responsibility. Car has insurnace through Hagerty Insurance.

Since I've bought it, I've done quite a bit to the car, here is a list of what I've done:
Replaced door locks/cylinders
Replaced all original bullet style electrical connections, and soldered them (biggest culprit of electrical problems in Classic Minis) EVERYTHING works except the windshield wipers, I've been wanting to buy a new switch but haven't been able to. All turn signals, headlights, brights, radio, everything works.
Replaced boot seal, as well as cleaned out any surface rust in boot, and sprayed with undercoating
Rebuilt center binion, cleaned up, and replaced all oil pressure lines. Installed Dynamat on the bulkhead.
Rebuilt the shifter, cleaned out and replaced all bushings and bearings, shifts great now!
Replaced all carb gaskets, filters, intake gasket car runs really well.
Installed a high flow carb filter.
Replaced the upper radiator hose, and installed a new 160 degree thermostat. Car has a very recently replaced radiator as well!
Installed fender flares.
I've done quite a bit here and there, painted the hood, stripped and painted the grille, the list goes on!

Here are some pictures:

I love the car, its an absolute blast to drive. Its very much a head turner, I get comments on it every time I drive it. There is just alot I want to do with it, but just can't financially do it, and thats why I'm letting it go! I know someone out there will enjoy it and be able to do stuff to it!

I'm asking $4800 or best offer. I'm also open to trades, but will be really picky about them. I'm looking for a beginners motorcycle + cash.

Any other questions, let me know!

Thanks,
Nick

No mention of rust. How are the floors, boot, and other rust-prone areas? I've been looking for a doner shell for my '73 Austin American and this might fit the bill, although the 70s sunroof turns me off a bit.

Floors and boot are extremely sound.

The ends of the rear valance have been eaten away, and there is some fiberglass patching that have been done in the deep corners of the boot, and some metal patches done on the passenger side below the door.

Biggest thing is that the brake master cylinder needs help, it works well, just needs a double pump. I've bled the whole lines numerous times and doesnt fix it. Everything else is sound.

That's a bigger job than you might think. I had to do that a couple years ago. The master cylinder is no longer available, and the replacement unit has different line fitting sizes so the lines have to be changed as well. All in all, an easy job, just bigger than swapping in a direct replacement.

Good luck with the sale.
