Usually there should be a handbrake warning light there if it's a non-export model, otherwise the warning light is below the cigarette lighter and a plug or nothing at all should be where your toggle is. If there is a toggle, it's probably been added afterwards. Toggles were only used for a short time before they were changed to lever switches for saftey issues. (apparently they were afraid a toggle could impale you in an accident)

ok second pic is of the dash im removing now...right inbetween rpm and speedo where u see an empty hole is a on/off simple toggle switch that looks exactly like the two below it...does anyone know what thats for..the two below left side turns on wipers and right side turns on outside exterior lights....i think it might be to simply to turn on and off dash lights since my dash lights dont go on.....even when headlights and exterior lights are ON or does it have a different purpose...all my guages work except water temp guage

as said above in my previous reply is usually a dash illumination switch...check if two wires are still behind 1 should be red with white tracer, and 1 solid red

Are you talking about the rectangle orange light/switch combo? Thats the rear Windown defrost/heater with warning light to remind you when it's on.
The little red light is to remind you the handbrake is on.

By chance were driving lights/spot lights added to the front of the car? They may be to turn them on/off
