It's my wife's car and she can't drive a 4 speed anymore. We are both 67 and her legs can't handle shifting anymore.

Great looking car, but 18 Gs is a lot of money for that car IMO. Good luck for the sale though.

Your right, but I got over 36k invested in the last 5 years. I don't think you could find one in better condition.

Not sure if the seller would be willing to ship, but can't imagine shipping to the UK would cost more than $1500 (1,000 british pounds).

stiff price for a 66 that has been messed with

wrong engine size

mirrors

a lefty

front wheel track suggests a Cooper disk replacement that changes the track . . .

sweet car but me thinks the $$ is a bit high

IF it sells (sold) at this price I'll hang mine out for more ! ! !

The engine has been changed, but the disc brakes are the same as an S type and the mirrors are the same that the car came with. I have also replaced the cooling system (w/p, rad over sized, all belts & hoses, thermostat), complete upgrade on brakes (disc & power booster), all the suspension that is avaiable, all new wiring harness throughout the complete car. All work done at a mini garage that knows what they are doing.

let me re-phrase

It is a very nice looking car

however I think at that price one is looking for a 'correct' Cooper and as you acknowledge: this isn't.

While your improvements make sense - I have some of the same ones - they make the car "not an original" and MAYBE that hurts the selling price.

The non-standard parts alone in my 79 price out to over $12,000 not including labor ... but I doubt I could get $10,000 for it. Especially today!

You could try to push the fact it IS left drive . . . some prefer that. But if showing the car, the right hand drive seems to be a gimmick the visitors like.

Bottom line: a used car is worth exactly what you find someone is willing to pay for it (and you've cashed the check!)

Good point. It wouldn't take much to get this one back to original specs.

Nice car, wish I could buy it. I really like the fact it is not a re-vin'd car.

I will never understand why folks will post negative comments about someones Mini that is for sale. If it is too much or you don't like it don't buy it. Simple...
