Clean Engine Bays! Pics?

Hey guys. I'm just looking for some ideas on how to clean up and dress up my engine bay. It's not in crappy condition, but I'd like it to be a little better to look at when I pop the tiny little hood to show my friends.

I'm looking for wire tucking and dressing ideas, as well as ways to just simplify and clean up the engine bay. Valve covers are an obvious fix, and I plan on doing that later. But for now I'm looking for popular modifications to the engine bay that just make it look nicer and cleaner.

And post up as MANY pictures as you'd like of some clean engine bays.

Jeff's looks pretty sweet. Of course, even he hasn't seen it in person yet.

I have mine disassembled at the moment under the hood, and ready for paint. I'm Just waiting for it to warm up. Currently its 25 degrees, and it was about 5 degrees a couple of days ago. I'll post pics once its back together under the hood. I like the bumble bee plug wires. Best thing to dress one up is fresh paint.

I didn't realize that it was legal to have them clean. Can't you get arrested for something like that?

Do you have a full size picture you could send me? I'd like to use your engine bay as a guideline this summer when I pull my engine and clean up the engine bay. Also... I have the same aftermarket dipstick as you, but I don't know what kind it is (It was on the car when I bought it), do you know what brand or anything yours is?

If you have that pic in a higher resolution, can you send it to me at TexasGuy524@hotmail.com

I agree, that's quite the engine compartment. Regarding the electric fan ... after talking to Graham at Heritage Garage (who races and builds minis for a living), I decided not to install an electric fan. The Mini engine fan pushes air through the radiator, not pulls air like a traditional electric fan install. If you are really set on an electric fan, make sure you find one that has good flow pushing, as a puller fan will typically under-perform when set up for pushing air. Just a suggestion.

Cheers,
Jeff

Thanks, Jeff. I believe that is why many people mount it on the side nearest the fender, so that the fan can pull through to the fender. If not, I have a source for all kinds of electric fans, and I can make my own shroud. I'm pretty good with fabrication, so we'll see how it all works out. My holes is less parasitic loss, and more room in the engine bay.
