question about twin su hs2 intake
I sent a pair of hs2 for my 71 998 to be restored. They were sent in complete together on the intake with heat shield and everything removed from a running car. I recieved the pair back restored in perfect condition. On the top right hand side of the intake there is a threaded hole like a port on the intake. I do not remember unscrewing or removing anything from it. The hose in the middle that attaches to the round thing on top is still there but nothing is screwed in this threaded hole to the right. Does anyone know what it is. I should have took a picture of it complete before i sent it off. Its going to be a puzzle getting this thing back together. I sent it off with the fuel hose and all the fittings attached. Replacing them shouldn't be a chore. If anyone has any close up pictures of there complete setup it would be great.
if it's on top the size of half an inch, it's used to connect the vaccume line to a brake booster. If no no booster/serve in the car, than it can be capped off.
A picture would help now to make sure were are talking about the same hole.

Here is a picture of the intake. It is the round threaded hole on the top right. Does it just have a fitting that screws in it and the rubber hose from my brake booster hook to it. The car does have a brake booster on it , as it has power disc brakes.
there should a donut looking ring attached to your booster hose if there isn't, it could mean that you removed the hose instead of the ring.
You need a bolt with hole, that's the one that attaches the ring to the manifold.

Just got home, and went out to the garage. I took a look at the car, and it does have a rubber hose coming from the booster, and it has a fitting on the end of it that me and my dad unscrewed when removing the carb setup. I had just forgot. We are going to clean up the engine and give it fresh green paint before putting it all back on.
I assume you save that bolt somewhere right?
Are you going with a traditional green.....is it black right now?

Yeh its a banjo bolt that goes to the servo. /Users/bobbyharris/Pictures/mini cooper engine bay.jpg Here is the before pic of my car. I went to the local paint store and got a quart of some green enamel paint to match, but i think it came a shade to bright. I may go back and get them to remix it a little darker, but not sure yet.
