Two more days and I'll be able to ditch my runflats for my winter tires. It's a good thing too - one of my summer tires developed a leak. The tires are too worn down to make it worth getting it patched. I'll be replacing them come next spring anyway.

 

I've been squeaking at stoplights and squealing around curves (and NOT on purpose!) so I'm guessing my tires are gettin' a little tired.

HI FREEBIES! I'm eyeball deep in masters thesis, and I'm pretty sure they're trying to smother me with books. *sigh. But I know what slave-ship rowing i'm going to have to do afterwards, so I'm not trying to hurry graduation! Oh, and just so ya'll know: you guys are all invited to the graduation! But you don't have to come. Kansas is too far for anybody to come, even me! HAHAHAHHA.... *sigh. Must.Finish.Thesis.

 

I'm only about 10 hours from there, so let me know- I'll try to come!!! ROAD TRIP Yay!

 

You and your road trips! But Yes, ya'll are welcome. Thesis is done! Ok, mostly. I submitted it, now I'm waiting for bigwig feedback. But it's like a huge burden is lifted! No more threats of academic probation! (Yes, they were threatening, but not just me...the WHOLE class. And some, they aren't threatening anymore. Just doing! )

I totally meant to celebrate it by getting the MINI washed and a whole bunch of things done I kept putting off. I got one thing done all weekend, and it wasn't wash the MINI. *sigh.

Alright guys I've tried searching through tons of pages with no avail, so I must ask, what ended up happening with the MINI? I'm guessing from the tittle that skillet never got it, but are there any further details? I'm sure this has already been discussed, but I just can't find it!

 

Silly newbie. See post 8013 below for the latest synopsis. Skillet did not get the car, Apple turned out to be a VERY bad Apple seeking attention for God only knows what reason, and the rest of us groupies hung around because we really liked each other.

I only meant noob = 54 posts. But no harm intended, I was just kidding. Any time one of us posts a new note here (re: classic Minis or not), it pops up on the "new posts" reader and somebody inevitably asks. It's getting to be an urban legend or something. hehehe.

 

X... Really... don'tcha remember, all Noobs are required to read the first 50 pages and then every 5th page there on out, to get the jist of this whole thing. THEN, they must bake chocolate chip cookies and mail them to every long term member of this group, at which point they're baking skills and ability to negotiate the USPS will be taken into consideration. Finally, they must submit their senior HS photo (or a pix from their Senior Prom). On this group... for us all to see. We judge hair style, dress style, or Lapel size, amongst other things.

YES we are, and YES you did! Actually, I also think I met you on last years KC MINIs Donut Run. You had the AWESOME red classic pickup!

 

The Donut Run... that was a great event and we need to do another! It's been a year since I nearly overdosed on sugar and fat. Thanks for the compliments on the Pup. Its a fun little beast. I did a K-5 Leavenworth/Weston cruise a couple weeks ago and found some nice Mini/MINI secondary roads to play in. Maybe we should check out whether any of those little towns have donut shops and make it a country drive event!

Merry Christmas, Freebies! Move is over - we're in TX, and it's a bit chilly, but not crazy like Kansas. We drove through the recent snowstorm (my MINI is so totally awesome) so when people around here whine about the "weather" and the "road closures" I can't believe it! Wimps!!
