we had the downpour of rain all day today -starting the morning with ice.
I can't wait for spring to get here! I love the holidays then would love it to go back to spring right after the new year...

Hey Gemmy!! This morning was nasty over our way too,, we had to miss the Buckley's brunch in our jammies becoz of the ice I really wanted to go and see the Phillymini gang again..... sigh

Speaking of tastes, I just cooked up a batch of chicken curry with some sticky rice. Boy that was yummy.

Yes I saw your post, glad we didn't have to go out for awhile anyway, buy the time we absolutely had to go out, it was just downpourning.

OK, Hal, you made chicken currey and didn't call me?! I'm over here wishing for a ... a... oh hell, I dunno what I'm wishing for... so I can gracefully bow out of Christmas. Or even not so gracefully bow out of it. I just can't get in the mood if there's no snow on the ground ~ just doesn't feel right to me. so chicken currey would have been a wonderful escape Hope you enjoyed it!

I've really got to work on my short bread technique. I've forgotten how to get them "just so" (i.e., not hard as hockey pucks)... <sigh> Y'all remember that commercial for rice krispy treats and the woman pats herself with flour and adourns the "I've been slaving in the kitchen all day" look? Well, that's me, but instead of just putting on the look, I HAVE been slaving in the kitchen all day. 2 batches of short bread (aka hockey pucks), 3 batches of rosemary/salt roasted nuts (almonds, pine nuts and sunflower seeds) with craisins, 3 batches of spiced pecans, 1 batch of candied spiced walnuts, 3 large batches of homemade hot cocoa mix... and my husband drank all the wine! Pooh on him!

TNMM my Husband had been complaining about how tough baking is...until I read him the Long List of Goodies you created today!!

His only creation since we brought home the Mixer was a batch of Chocolate Chip Cookies. We went back to the store yesterday and picked up a Cookbook (KitchenAid), a Stainless Steel Bowl, and a Pouring Shield. The woman at the Counter asked how we liked the Mixer, Hubby told her we've used it...Uhhh...Honey you turned it on...that was the extent of the use it had gotten until Today...the Lady was quite amused!!

Hal I don't care what you call US as long as it's NOT Late for Dinner...Chicken Curry...as long as it's not too spicy...I'd LOVE some!!

I've got a recipe for BBQ pecans I'll swap you for your spiced pecans. I'd like the cocoa mix recipe also.

 

Hal, I'll send you an im tomorrow. Would LOVE that bbq pecans! Btw, I get my pecans by the 25 pound bag from that coop I mentioned when we last spoke. Actually almost all my nuts come from there (Costco has better prices on pine nuts and I'm looking at buying a 50# bag of organic almonds from another coop as almost all almonds in the US have been cooked now.. makes them a bit chewier and the flavor is different)

g'morning all...

It's just one of those mornings where I wish I would have never gotten out of bed. Seems like everyone and everything has been irritating to me and I've only been in the office for 25 minutes!

 

mmmm, things could be worse....you could have been told you were getting a free classic mini which turned out to be a scam !!

 

TNny?? What's up?? Why aren't you in the Christmas spirit?? Is it because your home and surrounding area smells like skunk,,,? Or worse yet, dead skunk??

I haven't started any baking yet.. my hubby and I have agreed to work together and make up a bunch of nice treats to give to the neighbors this year... guess we better get started on that goal. sigh

I am hungry,, I am trying to eat better. And have done pretty well, but tonight? I am hungry. I guess it is a good thing that we haven't baked yet, if so I would be in the kitchen round about now gnawing through the goodies..

I got home late last night and there was a package waiting for me from our friends from Scotland, I opened (even thought it said "not till X-mas) and it was a hardback book on MINI Fun facts!
Too cute!!! It's nice when your friends support your obsession!!!
