Rons Mini is also a very high quality job that I have had the pleasure of meeting up close. These two cars are without a doubt in the same league.

But I'm a "Blue Guy"!!!!

MD, you coming to the Mini50???? Thanks for the compliment, but my paint job is nowhere near as nice as yours, and I suspect his either.

Ron, won't be making the "50". I suppose I'm one of the lucky ones these days to have a job that demands my time. I just can't get away.

Those white painted Mini Special wheels are a very nice touch. I like them a lot.

I was trying to ask what you are showing us here?

You think you have a cross pinned diff? and it's striped? do you mean stripped? How so?

What are S/C drop gears compared to regular drop gears?

Edit: I got it, straight cut gears vs helical, won't they be a lot noisier? I mean, these cars are hardly quiet as it is.........

What diff ratio will you wind up with? Are you going for acceleration or quiet cruising?

With 107 hp I'd think I'd go for a taller ratio...........

After waiting 2 weeks for a light fly and backplate and a wallet short of £300........I decided to put the old verto back as the other entailed that I strip and send crank and fly back to UK to be rotationally balanced.......at more expence....................so I put engine back together and paint it..............

now will try and fit it in engine bay next week....................

Well Mr mk1leg I think your doing a fine job of it. Keep up the good work on this thread as well. Looks like your getting so much closer to road test time now.

Any ideas on the yellow motor color? Is there a thread that explains the colors and codes over the years?

Yellow motors are 1000cc units from 1970 onwards.........

This is just awesome...make my head spin thinking of all the things that can be done to the car -when you have an end goal type of vision. Wow.
