ROFL.. well not really.. I know what each look like but I thought yours was a MK1 with door pockets. The door cards you have dont look like they are for Mk1. Maybe it is because I assumed by your name and the back end of the car that you were restoring a MK1.

Not only was a lesson learned here by myself, but some very nice photos showing some obvious differences between the models were applied.

I have to say, call me what you want, that Mk5 door/the whole damn interior, was pretty sweet. Barring the console, I wouldn't mind that look in mine also.

Now having seen these samples of how the Mini had progressed (inerior)over the years, I can only wonder why so many classic owners still can't or don't want to see the progression to the newest models.

Sorry, I don't wish to open a can of worms in this thread about that. It is pretty neet to see the progression though.

You mean the new MINI? Or do you mean updating older models with new interiors?

Yes, I meant the new one. And no, I don't wish to steal this thread with that topic.

Another time, another thread

I wish the new MINI would revert back to the 'old' MINI as far as the center stack is concerned! As much as I like the Mini's interiors, I don't think I'd like to see the new MINI's reproducing that look in the present iteration of the car.

It had to be 1975 when I last installed a glass the way you have to do it in a Mini. Since then, I've roped in the window and seal on just about everything, barring those that require urethane.

My point: When it came time to do mine, I had a huge brain fart and forgot how to do it. After a few days of doing other things that also needed to be done, my brain came back to me, and I installed my glass, almost. I hadn't the proper tool for sliding in the locking strip, so like a person without a brain (once again) I tried valiantly to do it with plastic wedges and screwdivers to no avail.

So my Snap-On tool man comes by about three days later, I buy the tool and presto, the windows are both done in about 20 minutes.

I know this dosen't help with your windscreen locking strip, but maybe it'll come to you when you least expect it, and that glass bit will be done.
