A black roof would set it off, imho. Definitely the way to go.

That's an easy fix - just drive as fast as you can with the windows open. If the car's closed up without you in it, who cares?

I have black roofs on both the Mini and the MINI. Living in Las Vegas, I can't say that the interior gets any hotter than in my wife's all white Subaru. I'd say go for it.

In other news, the 1st few posts in this thread gave me the confidence to install my bonnet stripes last night. I'll post pics next week after my camera gets back from Nebraska (it's there with my wife).

Nice. We've been talking about an FJ as a possible replacement for the Subaru when it hits 10 years old. How do you like it?

So far I LOVE it. They have an active MOD community and so far people have been super nice. Looking like a "Super MINI" is cool, too.

Oh, yeah, and the truck drives great, as well. I like how it's quite no-nonsense: they don't even offer leather seats, just water-resistant cloth, and the floor mats are thick rubber, as is all the interior fittings. It still looks great, though, and is comfy at highway speeds. I hope to take it 4WD-ing in the Spring. Note the color-matched interior, just like the MINI! Mine is Full Time 4WD with manual stick, the "hard core" model. The Automatic with 2WD/4WD mode gets a few extra MPG though, depending on how you mean to drive it.
