Wheel suggestions?

I've been looking all over and I've finally found the LOOK of the wheels I want on my Mini:

These are classic Mustang "Vintiques 54 Series" rims, obviously... Problem is, everywhere I've found these (Summit Racing, etc.) only stocks them as small as 14" and I'm looking for 12" diameter with a 4-hole bolt pattern and proper offset.

I've seen references to old Dunlop rims that look kinda/sorta like these, but not as nice as this look... Can anyone suggest a place that carries rims that simulate this look but work on the Mini? Ideally I want 12X5 or 12X6 size.

Thanks!

You may want to look at wheels for the GM H platform cars - Vega, Astre, Sunbird, Starfire, Monza, Skyhawk. They had 4 bolt 4" rims in 13" dia.. These will fit the Mini but be careful on spacing and wheel nuts. I had a set from a Cosworth Vega but could never get them right. shouldered lug nuts are hard to find in the right sizes. In all, I don't think it's worth the effort. Buy what's made to fit the Mini. You'll be happier in the long run.

start searching here....

Here is a picture of the Dunlop wheels, 5 1/2 X 10. I did see a brand new set of reproduction Dunlop D1 wheels at MMW 2007 from Heritage Garage.

I like the contrast of the black on these Dunlop copies.

There is a set of 10" Mini steel rims that has this look. They used similar on MGBs & Midgets - Rostyle rims on a B

Mini 10" Rostyle (or RO-style for Rubery-Owen styled) hiding on left of photo here but painted all silver...think these came on 1275GT's....

Yeah - I've seen these but only in 10". Does anyone make 12" ones?

These are even closer, but again, only in 10"?

I checked 7 Enterprises but they don't seem to have black and silver except in the "Revolution" style which I know some people love - I'm not one of them however.

I really like the black-and-silver "Hot Wheels" effect that the Mustang replicas give best, though. (Sigh)...

I would - I love the look of 10" wheels... However, I can't afford the Cooper S brake disc conversion that going to 10" wheels would necessitate (10's wouldn't fit over the OEM brakes on my model year).

Unless you happen to have a set of Cooper S disc brakes lying around that you'd care to donate to the project?

Matt, you would laugh if you saw my empty garage. Mini ownership, with all the extra bits, is still 100% virtual. I almost have enough pictures/details to begin a build thread, though.

Fiesta 7.9" disk brake conversion will fit under 10s and is much cheaper than the s disks...check with Minimad as he's just about finished up with the mod.

Iiiiiiiinteresting... Please do let me know how that turns out. Do you expect any drop in braking performance due to this MOD? I'd really like to put on 10" wheels, but I'd assumed that it would be impossible due to the cost of the brake replacement. I think the rear drums need a different set of covers as well...
