I hear snow driving in a classic is fun as all get-out... But salt is evil, so I'll restrain myself.

Congrats on the plates (finally)!

The one good thing about N.D is it is so cold they don't use salt because it doesn't work they just use sand but it really doesn't work so you have a sheet of ice all winter.

It never ends. I don't think I'll ever be able to drive my Mini. Today I was going to take her for a drive and I asked my dad how to put the jump box on because the battery was dead so he was like "hold on i'll be right over" so he comes over and starts putting it on and he noticed the positive battery cable is loose (not even connected) so he decides he's gonna try and connect it. Well that didn't work so he pulled the battery out and decided he was going to drill a bigger hole in the terminal to connect the cable...he broke the drill bit inside the terminal. So, now he wants to put a regular connection on the cable so he wants me to find out where the positive cable runs so he can get some slack to put on the new connector. And then as he's leaving he blames all of this on the fact that the car is British. So now I'm reading my books to try and find out where the cable runs so she can be fixed before the next Mini meeting...

On my car, the +ive cable goes out the boot floor, along the rear subframe to the middle of the car, then to the front of the car.

I have been scraping the undercoating from the bottom of mine so I was able to slide right under the car and take a few pics of the battery cable. The pics aren't the greatest because I was laying on a creeper with a light in one hand and camera in the other. You should be able to get the idea though.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...y.php/cat/2260

When it comes through the boot floor it goes into a screw on bracket, then into a channel where it is held in by compression. The cable leaves the channel and goes through a couple more brackets and then goes into the solenoid box on the side of the firewall.

You probably will have to pull the cable out of the channel and try to get some slack from the engine bay.

I finally got to take my Mini out for a nice drive. I love driving her. I'd love to go on a road trip with her.

Here's some pictures my dad and I found in his Navy photo album of him standing next to a classic when he was in Australia:

Bump for my Mini's thread. (got bored tonight...) She's broke again. Fix one thing and something else breaks. I know what the problem is but I'm not going to mess with it until my dad gets back in town because I don't want to mess anything up but at least she's not leaking as much oil as she was when the problem first started (leaked out a quart of oil in a couple minutes)
