Can you name this color, or paint code?

I'm trying to figure out the color/paint code for my baby?

Any Ideas....????

I'm thinking Vemillion Red - CML (BLVC118),

But... I just don't know....

It is hard to be sure from a photo as Vermillion depends on lighting and paint condition. Reds oxidize a lot and you need to keep it polished to get the true color. It looks like your might use a good rub with a cleaner/wax or light compound. But, again it is hard to tell from the photo.

Vermillion should be what I call a "tangerine" color. An orangy red, but bright. Other oranges used were duller in brightness, similar to the MG colors used in the period.

Vermillion was used in the late 70's on Minis. I think from about 76 to 79-80ish. Your car is a Mk3 so it could be a 76-77? Has it been repainted?

Check my gallery for pics of my Vermilion Estate...this paint job is about two years old

Never mind - it appears that they've lost most of their photos...

Based on your pics... I'm stuck between vermillion red and blaze orange...

Any hope of a comparison between the two?

It's a '75 RHD 850

Here's some older pics of different lighting/angles.

If it still has its original VIN Chassis plate under the bonnet shut or on the inner front wing this had the paint code on but possibly not in 1975. (Blaze is EMA (BLVC 16)
Minicolours has a photo of a Blaze Clubman.

It sure looks Vermillion in your photos. Roof looks like it could use a light compounding. Then it'll deepen the gloss and be a little redder. Nice looking Mini!

There was a Triumph color, Carnelian Red (sp) I think the code was 287 My 72 TR6 is painted this color and it looks very close to your mini. The CR was actually a TR7 color and since the 7's started in 74/75 there is a good chance that might be it.

I'm thinkin' vermillion too....

I won't bother with buffing, as it's going to be repainted here soon enough, I'm stripping it down and addressing a rust issue here and there... It's coming along great, as I've got the interior all cleaned up and pretty, and added a decent alarm and keyless entry myself... (60 bucks! woo hoo!, and about 7 hours of knuckle cracking work)

There are issues near the headlamp areas, along the seam in the front under the lamp holes, just paint "Bubbling"... looks like water and salt collected along the inside seam area and rusted forward through the metal and paint... once I sanded down the paint, the holes became clearly visible :( That said, there isn't an issue anywhere else that I can find, so I'm happy there.

I've got a decent list of stuff on order and have all the stuff I want tweaked pulled off the car.

Essentially, what is happening is that everything that usually is chrome is going to powdercoat to go gloss black, along with the minilifes, the rear lenses and front turns are going to a professional tinter to get sprayed dark, and the front lamps are going to get sprayed with a "light" tint. It'll get black stripes and a black roof as well, but retain the stock paint color for the body/interior :P

I'm pulling the engine soon to repaint and clean up the engine bay significantly and soon enough she'll be good to cruise respectfully...

Nice photo of Blaze.

You can take the Mini to a body supply house and have them shoot the color with their scanner. They can then mix up a small amount to match and/or you can compare it to the mix requirements of Vermillion & Blaze to make sure. I had them make a pint that matched very well indeed for a previous Clubman Saloon (78) I had.
