Decent Paint Shops

So I've been out of town for a couple of weeks on business. I flew home this weekend and found that my car was keyed in its off-street parking space (for those of you who had responded to my other thread about parking). Between being hit by a piece of shrapnel on the Stevenson (puncturing my A/C condenser), getting rear-ended in basically a hit-and-run, this would be my third insurance claim within the year that I've had the car. Which, I've been told by my agent, despite the fact that none of these things were my fault, they'll still cancel me.

I'm out of town for another 2 weeks, and my car is currently at Knauz for both my oil service and an estimate on the paint work. I was going to just let them fix it when I thought my insurance company was going to pay for it, but now I'm thinking they're going to be too expensive. So, does anybody have a place, anywhere in Chicagoland, that's reasonably priced and does decent work? I'm sure this is going to happen again, so I'm not looking for 100-point paint. Just very solid. Its heavy multiple scratches on the driver's door, a light scratch on the hood, and obscenities on the boot and rear bumper.

I'm starting to think this car is cursed, and I should just get let it go after getting this fixed.

Thanks in advance,
Jeremy

I had my hood repainted at Jersey Autobody on the north side. They did a good and the price wasn't too bad.

Off Topic question how much was your oil change at Knauz?

i was going to recommend patrick, but if your insurance is too cheap to
pay for real work, then it will need to go to macco (sp?).

which insurance company is this? sounds terrible.

State Farm.

Actually, I posted a longer version of this in the 1st Gen forum and got some good info from CR&PW, who is a claims rep at State Farm. It ends up that I won't be cancelled, but I might get a warning letter for the frequency of the claims.

So, my baby is in the Knauz body shop now getting a nice dress-up.

I was thinking Maaco, but I was definitely going to wash it first so that they woudn't just paint over the dirt.
