quick question from a new MINI owner..:)

hello , my name is Peter and I just bought my 04 MCS with 30k miles on it
the car is in good condition overall, I took it to Patrick to check it out if there is any problems but they said that the car is fine ,
iam just kinda worried because the power steering makes strange whining noise when the car is idle and iam turning the wheel , eve when u drive slow and u turn the wheels its does the same
well it might be something that all Minis have but maybe there is somethign wrong... iam tryin here first to see if i should go to the dealer and they would fix it or they just gonna say that everything is fine....

all the help woudl be great!!

Peter

Welcome

Peter, you have excellent taste! You will enjoy the classiest of the MINI color combinations. I'm a PW/B no stripes fellow myself!

Check out the Pepper White Peerage for more of your fellow enthusiasts...

BTW, very nice wheels...what size tires do you have on your baby?

These folks are correct. Normal sounds from an electric power steering pump.

the tires are 215/45/17 , i bought those wheels used from a freind who had a mini but iam affraid im gonna have to sell them becasue i want to drop the car maybe a 1-1.5 and those tires may rub... ( they rubbed on the highway doin 75 and i hit few potholes and the rear left tire was rubbin the flare... so iam very affraid that when im gonna lower it i will rub all the time....

( the rim is 17x7.5)

Dude, tint the widows for a very clean cool look, that will keep you cool in summer and help you run the AC less too.

Welcome to the Gang, hope to see you at one of our local events soon.

The steering whines when you turn the wheel standing still because it wants to be driven lol... then it whines when you accelerate because it always wants to go faster

you sold your WRX, huh? yah i remember. you bought that JDM STi
lip from me and some other stuff. i appreciated that!

try here for your tint. i haven't done mine but they have experience
with MINI's and ive seen their work in person. i forgot the owner's name
but he's a nice guy. not the cheapest, but they say they use one of
the best films. also, they do commercial buildings.

let me guess... you bought those wheels from Nirmit, right?

hey peter,
car's looking good. the euro grille looks awesome. sorry to hear the wheels might not work out for you. on my stock MINI they were perfect, but can't comment how they would be dropped. you could always get very very stiff suspension congrats on the MINI again. they're great cars. can't wait to see your finished product. if it's anything like your old WRX it should be awesome!
