As far as cost goes, well I think few places in the nation are higher than San Francisco. In San Jose, where I work, the gas is cheaper than in SF and it still cost me $32 to fill up my tank tonight (No Name Gas, at $2.65/gallon!)

I have been getting about 25-28 MPG on the highway (2005 MCSC)...
Where in S.J.? Rotten Robbies?

There is a no name on south van ness and 15th. I think it's about $2.70 a gallon for 91 octane....just in case you are running low and want to fill up in the city.

Generally, I fill up in Daly City where there a couple of shell stations that are just about the same price as a no name station.

I just drive a few miles north and gas up in Lake County instead of C(r)ook. I can't believe there's usually a .10 to .20+ cents/gal difference between the gas stations in these two counties.

On another note, reps from a dealership told me that the summer blends of fuel here in the midwest make it ok to use the mid-level pump (89) instead of the premium (93). Any fuel engineers able to confirm this? (yes, I do know the MINI sensors will reduce performance to avoid knock, just curious if the summer blend is formulated with something extra so that its close in performance to the rest of the year premium formulation)
