Dealer is selling it for $650.00, I am currently waiting for calls on how much a replacement run flat would be,(from tire shops) I will have the 16" runflats when my baby comes in...

I opted out because I thought the pricing of the insurance was excessive. Especially considering that I had never had a flat on my previous car which was a daily driver for over 20 years.
Then with all the construction going on in the Vancouver area, I picked up a nail. The dealer will NOT fix a runflat tire. They will sell a new tire to you for $600+ each
. So I took my car to a local Pirelli dealer and they pulled the nail and did an inside patch of the tire. The replacement cost of a tire from a decent tire dealer would be about half the cost of the dealer's. Of course, you can opt out of the runflats and the tires are far less expensive.
I also keep a compressor and a can for tire goop in my car...just in case.

thanks for the input, it means alot! I too haven't had too many flats over the years, but like you they seem to have become more popular over the last few years with all the construction!..
Haven't heard back from any of the tire shops yet....
Am also shopping for prices on a set of winter rims and tires......
Look at me doing all this stuff before my car is even here, OBSESSED much?? LOL

I picked up a set of new 15" mags and snowtires locally from a tireshop that offers a discount to the local MINI club here. Total came out to just over $600 CDN including taxes. When my runflats wear out, I'll probably get tires from them too. Check with your MINI club in Edmonton. They might have arrangements with somebody for pricing on tires.
Tireshops don't usually respond to messages unless you actually go there and have something talk to a real live person. If they say they'll get back to you, then they probably don't deal with runflat tires. Runflat tires require specialized equipment to deal with the thicker sidewalls and the bead around the edge of the rim.
