I was the Orange Mini that showed up to watch. Very Cool... That was the first that I've ever been to an AutoX event. I must say you navigated the cones much better than some out there. I was there to see you run 2 times before they switched things over to the larger cars.

Ah-Ha! We were wondering who the orange MINI was!! It was funny sitting on the sidelines and overhearing some spectators...this one guy was grousing about a MINI being there and "how fast can a MINI go...really" and trying to lecture his daughter (I think) about why a MINI isn't cut out for stuff like that. Hehehe.

I've never heard such Mini discrimination. We both (and Syd) had a great time out there!! It looked like a ton of fun...even if it was chilly for racing! After a nice driver's ed course on speed driving I'd love to get out there myself! Great pics too! Hi orange Mini...aka ThomB...my wife and I were commenting on how nice that color looked on your car - we were the pw one next to you!

I just read the message on here about a photo contest....I wonder if any pics of Wellzy are contest worthy?!?! I took a lot more than what's posted here on the site (some file sizes of the pics were too large to work as an attachment here).

I figured that was you. Honestly it was the dog that was the familiar face.

I was getting up the nerve to come over to say Hi, but then I ran into a friend of a friend (the guy with the kids) so I just hung out with him...

As for the color, that was probably the last color I would have thought I wanted (I like the PW), but it grew on us when we were looking. We figured if we were going to stand out, WE WERE GOING TO STAND OUT...
We ordered the Orange and Blue (sunrise, I think) leather/cloth seats to complete the whole Orange theme...

As much as I'd like too... "The Boss" says no... I wanted to get onto the track at Nelson Ledges when Classic was out there 2 years ago, but I was told AB-SO-LUTE-LY NOT... I don't think my car would be much of an autoX machine anyway. It's not as powerful, is heavier, yada yada.. Of course, the run flats that are on it are on their last season, so they might be fun to "wear out" a bit on a course.

Oh well, I still get to go fast (Uh, I mean the speed limit, Honey) on my motorcycle...

speed is not that inportent it is about self improvement. you will learn how your car will handle and in the end you will be a better driver.

Tell your honey that a better driver is a safer driver too.

She's normally too busy holding the dashboard where it's supposed to be and grabbing the Oh ***** handle.

Ever since I wrecked the minivan hauling the jet skis (rear-ended an SUV because I didn't leave enough stopping room when everyone did an emergency stop) she thinks I'm going to hit anyone I get within 50 feet of.

As for AutoX, because it's my daily driver, she doesn't want me to hurt it in any way that could inconvenience us. I'll be good "just watching"...

Ladies like it too....

Sorry you guys don't have understanding wives. Maybe if you let them have a turn at the wheel they'd understand.

My best friend & wife Babs can be pretty tough too. She insists on running the track days right along with me. Less laps for me, but great harmony here at home. Life is good.

Here's a picture of Babs having big fun. You guys should show your wives.

IMO you are more likely to lose your life on the way to the track than on the track. People are just stupid & crazy out there on the roads. I find the best drivers are on the track.

My wife learned to ride a motorcycle (for me) at 45yo. I think that's enough excitement for her. She'd never take the car onto a track...

That's a great action shot! The car looks awesome too btw! I couldn't agree more about being safer on the track than on the way to it, sad but true!

Mark takes his out and it is his daily driver. My thought is atleast it is under warranty and they will give him a loaner. As long as he is having fun and being safe I would rather he do it at Auto X or track day then on the road.

I am content to ride b**** seat behind Mike...we hardly see each other and its kinda like bonding time or something...that and before we would get a bike for me, we need to get a MINI of our own, right?

You could always get a Minibike & kill two stones with one bird.
