Mod Party - August 30th - Canton

Hey Guys,

Chad from Detroit Tuned is coming down to hook some of the MiniNEO folks up with some mods. I am getting a pulley along with another MINI. A sway bar and blacked-out gauges are also on the docket.

If anybody is interested in getting something done or just coming down and hanging out with some other owners, PM me and I can give you all the details. Also contact Chad if you want to schedule an install.

Is that something like the RMW tune? I'm pretty sure that won't be happening at this mod party. I am a big fan of my RMW tune though.....

There are a lot of threads here about the RMW tune, but in a nutshell it's this:

Jan from Revolution MINI Works tunes the engine on a dyno, essentially optimizing the computer settings for your specific car and modifications.

I had it done because I wanted a bit more performance for autocrossing. My car was running very strong before the tune, overall I gained less than 10 HP from the tune, but having the rev limiter increased to 7400 rpm has been a big performance help for me at some autox events.

It all depends on how you drive your car, for me, I never drive my car hard enough on the street to see any benefit from the RMW tune, but it's worth it when I'm racing. Others drive hard enough on the street to make this worthwhile.

It would be great to organize a time for Jan to come and work his magic. I probably won't ready ready for it until early next year as I just started modding. Chad is going to install a pulley for me on the 30th.

I'd be up for a Jan tune. Spring would work well for me too. Plus it gives time to get enough people together to make it worth his while to fly out here & do his magic.
